Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting a qualitative risk assessment for an aircraft to perform a flight procedure. Methods include determining: a pilot support value that is representative of a human-machine interface (HMI) onboard the aircraft; a crew factors value representative of a number of pilots and respective experience; an equipment state value of the aircraft, representing available and functioning avionic systems; a type of procedure for the flight procedure; a remaining trip length; an airport facilities state value; an Airport facilities state value; a physical environment value; and, an environmental state value. The method calculates the qualitative risk assessment, as a function of the determined values/factors and presents the qualitative risk assessment in a predefined area on an avionic display in the aircraft.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for guiding or otherwise assisting operation of an aircraft when diverting from a flight plan. One method involves determining a gliding trajectory for the aircraft based at least in part on a current altitude of the aircraft, providing a graphical representation of the gliding trajectory for the aircraft, identifying a plurality of landing locations within a range defined by the gliding trajectory from the aircraft, and for each landing location of the plurality of landing locations, providing a graphical representation of a respective landing location with respect to the gliding trajectory at a respective altitude associated with the respective landing location and at a respective distance with respect to a graphical representation of the aircraft corresponding to a respective geographic distance between a current location of the aircraft and the respective landing location.

Abstract: A significant weather advisory system for an aircraft is disclosed. The system is configured to identify, from strategic weather data, current significant weather events from weather impacted areas projected to be intersected by a geographical corridor around a projected flight path and projected to occur during determined time intervals during which the airborne vehicle is expected to pass through the weather impacted areas; compare the current significant weather events to previously identified significant weather events and detect significant changes between the current significant weather events and the previously identified significant weather events; and generate a notification for display to the flight crew via an onboard notification system that identifies the detected significant change when a significant change is detected.

Abstract: A flight deck system and a method for providing a flight crew with a ground path to a destination at an aerodrome for taxiing is disclosed. The flight deck system includes a controller configured to: set a destination point on the ground at the aerodrome for an airborne aircraft that is preparing to land; estimate a stopping point for the aircraft on a runway; and predict a ground path for the aircraft to follow at the aerodrome from the runway to the destination point. To predict the controller is further configured to: determine a starting point on the runway for the predicted ground path; and determine a runway exit point to a taxiway. The controller is further configured to cause the predicted ground path to be displayed on a flight deck display device.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to aircraft display systems and methods for providing ground traffic collision threat awareness. Traffic data is received, optionally from an automatic dependent surveillance broadcast, ADSB, system, including location data for other vehicles. Threat level data is determined representing an urgency of a threat of a surface collision with another vehicle based on the traffic data. The threat level data and the location data for the another vehicle is encoded into graphical symbology for a primary flight display device and into graphical symbology for a navigation display device. The graphical symbology is displayed on the primary flight display device and on the navigation display device.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for generating an alert for an aircraft potentially exceeding speed limits in airspace with speed limitations. The method comprises retrieving a flight plan for the aircraft and identifying airspace with speed limitations along the flight plan. A speed profile is generated based on the in-flight aircraft's current position, speed and trajectory. Any predicted speed violations are identified by comparing the speed profile with the airspace with speed limitations along the flight plan. A predictive time window is calculated that allows for the in-flight aircraft to decelerate sufficiently to comply with the speed limits of the airspace with speed limitations. The predictive time window includes a zone for the aircraft to reduce its airspeed and a reaction buffer zone to allow the aircrew sufficient time to comply with instructions to decelerate the aircraft. Finally, an alert is generated for the crew of the in-flight aircraft upon entering the predictive time window.
