摘要: A significant weather advisory system for an aircraft is disclosed. The system is configured to identify, from strategic weather data, current significant weather events from weather impacted areas projected to be intersected by a geographical corridor around a projected flight path and projected to occur during determined time intervals during which the airborne vehicle is expected to pass through the weather impacted areas; compare the current significant weather events to previously identified significant weather events and detect significant changes between the current significant weather events and the previously identified significant weather events; and generate a notification for display to the flight crew via an onboard notification system that identifies the detected significant change when a significant change is detected.

摘要: In some examples, a system is configured to determine a reliability index for weather information received by a weather system. The reliability index may indicate a degree of confidence of the accuracy of the weather information. For example, a system may determine a weather product for each of one or more voxels of a plurality of voxels in a three-dimensional or four-dimensional volumetric buffer, and based on a combination of the weather product and the weather information, determine a reliability index for the weather product. The system may display a first visual representation of the weather product and a second visual representation of the corresponding reliability index.

摘要: The radio system comprises a radio unit and an antenna unit coupled to the radio unit. The antenna unit is physically separate and located remote from the radio unit. The antenna unit further comprises a digital pre-distortion engine configured to pre-distort a modulated digital data signal; a digital to analog converter configured to convert the pre-distorted digital data signal to a pre-distorted analog data signal; and a power amplifier configured to amplify the pre-distorted analog data signal which distorts the pre-distorted analog data signal. The distortion introduced by the power amplifier is opposite to the pre-distortion introduced by the digital pre-distortion engine such that the pre-distortion introduced by the digital pre-distortion engine approximately cancels the distortion introduced by the power amplifier. The radio unit further comprises a coefficient computation engine configured to calculate coefficients used by the digital pre-distortion engine to pre-distort the modulated digital data signal.

The method includes: receiving, by a controller circuit, weather data, aircraft state data, and aircraft system status data; identifying a weather phenomenon that impacts the FP and creating an information structure for the weather phenomenon, the information structure including at least a type, a subtype, a severity, a start of impact and an end of impact. The method also includes presenting a weather event indicator overlaid on the mission timeline to indicate the weather phenomenon. The rendering of the weather event indicator on the mission timeline additionally depicts on the mission timeline: a start, an end, and duration of the weather event.

摘要: A method for sending environmental data to a vehicle in transit is disclosed. The method is performed by a ground system. The method includes receiving new environmental data from a plurality of environmental data providers. The method also includes synthesizing an update template that identifies recommended portions of relevant data that are available to be uploaded for at least one of a plurality of environmental data services. The method also includes sending the update template to the vehicle using a low-bandwidth connection, wherein the update template is sent by the ground system without first receiving a request for the update template. The method also includes receiving, from the vehicle, a request for the recommended portions of relevant data. The method also includes sending the recommended portions of relevant data to the vehicle in an update package using a high-bandwidth connection.

摘要: A method for providing environmental data to a vehicle such as an aircraft is provided. The method includes receiving a request from a vehicle to provide environmental data, and defining a route plan vicinity area as a part of a coverage polygon. The method further includes receiving alternate/back-up destinations selected from a list and defining and including in the coverage polygon one or more connection areas between the route plan vicinity area and the selected alternate/back-up destinations. The method smooths the coverage polygon and assembles environmental data for the smoothed coverage polygon. The assembled environmental data is sent to the vehicle.
