    摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed herein for video encoding and/or decoding using adaptive interpolation is described. In one embodiment, the decoding method comprises decoding a reference index; decoding a motion vector; selecting a reference frame according to the reference index; selecting a filter according to the reference index; and filtering a set of samples of the reference frame using the filter to obtain the predicted block, wherein the set of samples of the reference frame is determined by the motion vector.

    摘要: A device or method for video compression uses a technique in which changes in the image are encoded by motions of block of the image and signals indicating evolutions in the block. To determine the motions of the blocks of a each frame, a search is performed for a similar block of a previous frame based on points of the previous frame which are arranged in successive diamond shaped zones. The diamond shaped zones may be centred on the position of the block in previous frame, or one or more predicted motions of the block. The method terminates according to criteria defined using thresholds.

Floating point video coding can be used in the video encoder and decoder to support video content, such as HDR content. Specifically, a video codec structure such as H.264/AVC can be modified in order to support floating point video coding. Within any component of a codec system, some operations can be performed at floating point precision whereas other operations can be performed at fixed point precision.
