    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, configuration information associated with a switched uplink (SUL) mode in a network including the base station. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the configuration information indicating that the SUL mode is supported in the network, a tracking update to receive a query associated with capabilities of the UE.     Abstract: A user equipment (UE) uses conditional reconfiguration during positioning to improve the positioning performance. The UE receives conditional reconfiguration information from a serving base station, which includes a list one or more candidate target base stations and their associated resources for handover. During a positioning session, the UE receives assistance data and determines a target base station for handover based on the list of candidate target base stations and the assistance data. The UE, for example, may select a candidate target base station for handover during the positioning session to minimize the number of measurements gaps that are required for positioning measurements, or to increase bandwidth or minimize self-interference. Where timing advance measurements are requested, the UE may select a candidate target base station based on sub-carrier spacing to improve measurement resolution.

    Abstract: In a wireless network in which beams are transmitted by base stations, a beam relation database may be produced by crowdsourcing known positions of UEs and associated information related to beams received by the UEs at these positions. The beam information, for example, may include a beam identifier and cell identifier, and may further include measured signal parameters, such as Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) or Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ). The beam relation database may be used by a network or the UE to determine a position of a UE based on beams that are detected by the UE. The position fix may be an initial position fix that may be used to generate assistance data for the UE. Additionally, the beam relation database may be used to identify relevant measurement objects in the assistance data based on beams that are detected by the UE.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) communicating with a first base station via a first radio bearer and a second bases station via a second radio bearer is disclosed. Uplink data transmissions using the radio bearers may be controlled by a threshold. During a positioning session to locate the UE, the UE may modify the threshold to cause the UE to use both the first radio bearer and the second radio bearer. The UE may return the threshold to an original value after the positioning session.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) enhances positioning performance using Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) New Radio (NR)—Dual connectivity (EN-DC) based on an indication from the E-UTRAN base station that it is capable of EN-DC, e.g., in the upper layer indication of SIB2. When in idle mode, a UE that supports EN-DC and that has multiple carrier subscriptions may check the availability of EN-DC on both subscriptions that are camped on E-UTRAN base stations and use the subscription with EN-DC when a positioning session is initiated, e.g., from an emergency call. If one subscription is camped on a E-UTRAN base station and the other on an NR base station, the UE may use the E-UTRAN base station if EN-DC is supported or may use the NR base station if EONR and location based services are supported. A list of E-UTRAN base stations capable of EN-DC may be generated and used for selections of base stations to connect to or to prioritize during a handover procedure.

    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for improving performance of a touchscreen device. In an aspect, the touchscreen device receives a selection of an application or function based on a user touching a portion of a touchscreen display of the touchscreen device that includes an icon representing the application or function, collects biometric data of the user based on the user touching the portion of the touchscreen display, and determines whether the user is authorized to access the application or function based on the biometric data. In an aspect, the touchscreen device detects that a portion of the touchscreen display is unresponsive to user touch input, and in response to the detection, moves at least one icon displayed on the unresponsive portion of the touchscreen display to a portion of the touchscreen display that is responsive to user touch input.
