    摘要: An active actuator is interposed between the unsprung mass and the sprung mass of a vehicle, and a controller selectively extends and retracts the actuator at a prescribed acceleration so as to selectively apply an additional contact load to the wheel by making use of the inertial force of the sprung mass and/or the unsprung mass of the vehicle. Thus, the tire contact load of each wheel can be increased at will and independently from the other wheels so that the gripping force available to each wheel can be increased as required by appropriately operating the corresponding actuator. Therefore, the braking performance and the accelerating performance for the given road condition can be improved. Additionally, even when a frictional coefficients for the right and left wheels differ from each other, by appropriately applying an additional contact load to the wheel travelling over the more slippery part of the road surface, the stability of the vehicle can be also substantially increased.

    摘要: Electric power steering apparatus includes a control nit for controlling an electric motor to impart electric steering assist torque to the steering system of an automotive vehicle. The control unit is provided with a non-steady state detector section that generates a modification signal when it detects a non-steady state of the vehicle in which the steering wheel is turned to an excessive extent. Target motor current signal, which acts to impart the electric steering assist torque corresponding to manual steering torque, is modified by the control unit in accordance with the modification signal generated by the non-steady state detector section. Thus, the tire-to-steering-wheel torque is assisted in a returning direction of the steering wheel, so that the steering wheel is allowed to return to its center position at an increased speed.

    摘要: A cable-type steering device with electric power-steering assist in which the structure of the steering torque transmitting system is simplified and the loss in transmission of the steering torque is decreased. An output shaft of a motor in an electric power-steering device is rotatably carried around an outer periphery of a steering rod and connected to the steering rod through a ball screw mechanism. A follower pulley, to which a steering torque from a steering wheel is transmitted through Bowden wires, is spline-coupled to an outer periphery of the output shaft of the motor. When the output shaft of the motor is rotated by the steering torque of the steering wheel transmitted to the follower pulley or by the output torque from the motor, the steering rod is moved laterally by the ball screw mechanism to turn the steerable wheels of a vehicle.

    摘要: An electric power steering apparatus includes a control unit having a sensor fault detecting section, a first drive control signal generating section, a second drive control signal generating section, and a motor drive control mode switching section. When the sensor fault detecting section does not detect any faulty sensor, operation of an electric motor is feedback-controlled in such a manner that an offset between a target current set in accordance with a steering torque and a motor current becomes zero, and the motor applies a steering assist torque to the steering system on the basis of a first drive control signal supplied from the first drive control signal generating section. When a faulty sensor is detected by the sensor fault detecting section, the motor drive control switching section changes over drive control modes of the motor such that the motor is feedforward-controlled on the basis of a second drive control signal which is generated by the second drive control signal generating section on the basis of a target current signal set in accordance with a steering torque.

    摘要: In an electric power steering device of the type wherein an input member connected to an electric motor and an output shaft including an output member connected to a steering wheel are connected via a plurality of sets of friction clutch mechanisms for transmitting an auxiliary torque from the electric motor to the output shaft, the output member is displaceable in a radial direction relative to the input member. In response to rotation of position control members of the friction clutch mechanisms, one of the friction clutch mechanisms sets is disengaged whereupon a force or pressure exerted from the locking members of the other friction clutch mechanism sets to the output member forces the output member to move in the radial direction relative to the input member. With this movement of the output member, a frictional engagement force acting between the locking members and the input and output members is reduced. Thus, the friction clutch mechanisms can be readily disengaged by a force which is much smaller than the force required to disengage all the friction clutch mechanisms at one time.

    摘要: An electric power steering apparatus provides a steering power assist of a motor to the steering system of an associated automotive vehicle, so as to reduce necessary steering power to be applied by a driver. The steering apparatus includes an attenuation device in the form of a phase delay circuit or an active low-pass filter, which is provided in a feedback loop connecting a motor current detector and a control section of a control unit constituting the vehicle steering system. By the attenuation device attenuating relatively high frequency components of motor current detected by the motor current detector, there is achieved a high-performance electric power steering apparatus which is capable of reducing noise in the feedback loop, without affecting the motor current, to a sufficient degree to highly improve a response to a driver's steering operation.

    摘要: An electrically operated power steering apparatus basically has a steering torque sensor, a steering rotational speed sensor, and preferably a vehicle sensor. A controller outputs a motor control signal based on a steering torque, a steering rotational speed, and a vehicle speed which are detected by the steering torque sensor, the steering rotational speed sensor, and the vehicle sensor, respectively. The motor control signal is applied to control a motor driver to output a motor drive signal which energizes an electric motor to produce an assistive steering force or a braking force.
