摘要: An article is described herein that includes: a substrate having a glass, glass-ceramic or a ceramic composition and comprising a primary surface; and a protective film disposed on the primary surface. The protective film comprises a thickness of greater than 1.5 microns and a maximum hardness of greater than 15 GPa at a depth of 500 nanometers, as measured on the film disposed on the substrate. Further, the protective film comprises a metal oxynitride that is graded such that an oxygen concentration in the film varies by 1.3 or more atomic %. In addition, the substrate comprises an elastic modulus less than an elastic modulus of the film.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a vessel having a lumen defined at least in part by a wall, the wall having an interior surface facing the lumen, and the interior surface comprising a coating. The coating is configured to prevent the leaching of metal ions from the vessel wall into a fluid contained within the lumen and stored in contact with the coating. The vessels are used to store an aqueous drug product, typically an aqueous drug product containing an active agent and one or more excepients, such as a polysorbate stabilizer. The coated vessels are effective to reduce degradation of the active agent and/or one or more excipients, e.g. a polysorbate stabilizer.

摘要: In certain example embodiments, a coated article includes a tungsten-doped zirconium based layer before heat treatment (HT). The coated article is heat treated sufficiently to cause the tungsten-doped zirconium oxide and/or nitride based layer to result in a tungsten-doped zirconium oxide based layer that is scratch resistant and/or chemically durable. The doping of the layer with tungsten has been found to improve scratch resistance.

摘要: A coated glass article and of a system and method for forming a coated glass article are provided. The process includes applying a first coating precursor material to the first surface of the glass article and supporting the glass article via a gas bearing. The process includes heating the glass article and the coating precursor material to above a glass transition temperature of the glass article while the glass article is supported by the gas bearing such that during heating, a property of the first coating precursor material changes forming a coating layer on the first surface of the glass article from the first precursor material. The high temperature and/or non-contact coating formation may form a coating layer with one or more new physical properties, such as a deep diffusion layer within the glass, and may form highly consistent coatings on multiple sides of the glass.
