Abstract:
A window equiped with heat effect automatic opening device is provided. The window comprises a rectangular casing composed of hollow interior frames, an exterior panel and an interior panel secured to the lower portion of the casing and a tempered glass for covering the upper portion slidably secured into the casing between the panel and suspended from a suspension system which includes a heat effect device therein to automatically open the window when the indoor temperature becomes higher than an infusion point, and a lift device disposed between the glass and the interior panel for manually opening or closing the window. The improvement is characterized in that when comes a fire alarm, the heat effect device will break off to set the glass free to open the window.
Abstract:
A power drive moves a movable closure between an open position and a closed position with respect to a portal defining a passage through a barrier. The power drive can include an elongated drive member connected to the movable closure and a ball nut drive assembly for selectively moving the drive member longitudinally to position the movable closure between the open position and the closed position with respect to the passage through the barrier. The barrier can define at least a portion of a stationary structure or a vehicle, where the passage allows access within the structure or the vehicle. The movable closure can include a sliding door, hatch, window, or roof panel. The elongated drive member can be a flexible, wire wound push/pull cable having at least one wire member helically wound in uniformly spaced turns around a core of the push/pull cable to form a screw member capable of being driven by operable engagement with the recirculating ball nut drive assembly.
Abstract:
A door is mounted within a doorway to be pivotal about a pivot axis disposed close to and along one of side surfaces of the doorway to selectively open and close the doorway. A guide roller protrudes toward the upper surface of the doorway from the upper edge of the door at a location remote from the location of the pivot axis when the door is closed. A guide rail extends along the length of the upper surface of the doorway for guiding the guide roller along the length of the upper surface of the doorway. The guide rail is pivotal about the pivot axis. Means is provided to disengageably engage the guide rail with the upper surface of the doorway.
Abstract:
A clutch mechanism of a powered sliding device for a vehicle sliding door comprises a swingable member held at a neutral position by means of resilient force of a return spring, an output gear fixed to an output shaft of a motor, first gears rotatably supported to the swingable member and engaged with the output gear, second gears rotatably supported to the swingable member and brought into contact with the first gears with predetermined frictional resistance, respectively, rack members fixed to the base plate and engaged with the second gears, respectively, a wire drum connected to the sliding door through a wire cable, a drum gear integrally rotated with the wire drum. When the first gears and the second gears are rotated by the motor, the swingable member is rotated due to the engagements of the second gears and the rack members against the resilient force of the return spring so that one of the first gears is engaged with the drum gear. When the motor is not energized, the return spring returns the swingable member to the neutral position.
Abstract:
A garage door operator which senses obstructions and takes corrective action before entrapment can occur. Yieldable gears are utilized as a failsafe mechanism such that when the applied torque exceeds certain limit, the gears disengage so that the garage door can be manually moved. The yieldable gears may also be disengaged by remote control or by hand. Solid state circuitry is provided to achieve soft starts and stops of the electric motor. Test circuitry is provided that tests the operational readiness of the electrical components by simulating an abnormal torque condition. During operation of the electric motor, the torque load is electronically calculated and if an abnormal torque load is encountered, the electric motor reverses direction.
Abstract:
An electrical window operator for opening and closing a window comprises at least one arm connected pivotally and detachably in a first end with a sash coupling member slidable side within a limited part of the length of the sash, said arm being pivotally connected at the other end with a second coupling member connected with the main frame. An operator housing arranged at the main frame accommodates an elongate drive shaft with a threaded section engaged by a nut element forming part of the second coupling member and an electrical drive unit in axial extension of the drive shaft.
Abstract:
In a window with a frame of extruded profile members the exterior side of an edge portion of a thermo pane is supported by a first flange portion of the profile member and the inside by a glazing bead connected with the frame profile member. The main frame mainly consists of wood profiles, the exterior sides of which are covered by weather-resisting coverings. A hinge member at the top of the window comprises an edge portion (28) of an extruded profile member (27) forming a hinge pivot firmly connected to the main frame portion (20) at this side and a hook-shaped wall portion (6) of the opposite frame profile member (1) forming a hinge blade. At one of the other sides of the window means are provided to ensure engagement of said hinge pivot and hinge blade forming portions in the closed position of the window. Such means may comprise a sliding block (31) arranged displaceably in a track in the frame profile member, which block can be moved between a position opposite a retaining device anchored in the main frame structure for permanently securing the frame in case of a fixed window and a position in which it can be connected to a motion transfer member which is guided in a recess in the wood profile of the main frame for complete accommodation of the motion transfer member in the closed position of an openable window. Extruded profile members (20c, 24) may be fastened to the main frame wood profiles forming tracks (20b) for reception and movement control of accessories such as a roller blind (54), an insect screen (43) and/or a Venetian blind (51).
Abstract:
A door positioning mechanism with a moveable carriage driven by a motor through a lead screw, wherein the moveable carriage is connected to open and close the door by movement of the door rectilinearly along a track through the expedient of a drive train utilizing a multiple sheave and cable connection between the door and the moveable carriage. A hand disconnect is provided to disable the positioning mechanism and allow manual movement of the door. A thermal (fire switch) dead weight control is also provided to over-ride the positioning mechanism and automatically shut the door.
Abstract:
A slidable pane power window assembly for mounting in the rear window of truck cabs is disclosed. The assembly comprises a frame dimensioned to fit in the rear window opening of a truck cab and fitted with one or more fixed and slidable window panes. A slidable pane is moved horizontally into an opened and closed position by a rack and pinion drive, wherein a rack affixed to the slidable pane is engaged by a pinion powered by a motor connected to the pinion via power transmission cable. Another embodiment uses a push-pull mechanism for operating the window.
Abstract:
A sliding door operator comprises a tubular housing adapted to receive first and second elongated bars in a spaced apart and parallel arrangement. Both bars include a gear-toothed rack engaged by a single motor driven gear. An end of one bar is secured to the door and an end of the other bar is secured to a wall structure. A bracket secured to the door includes registering apertures adapted to mate with a bore in the end of one of the bars so that the bar can be detachably locked to the door by a locking pin. The other bar also includes a bore adapted to mate with the aperture in a channel bracket secured to the stationary wall structure to receive a removable locking pin therethrough. In addition, the operator includes a locking mechanism for locking the bars in a fixed position with respect to each other.
