Abstract: Drive system for moving a load along a curved path. The drive system includes a base for mounting the drive system, the base having a curved track for guiding the load along the curved path. There is a load engaging mechanism mounted on the base for movement relative to the base, the load engaging mechanism being for moving the load. The load engaging mechanism has a curved track engaging roller for engaging the curved track. A linear drive mechanism including a linearly driven member is mounted on the base. The linearly driven member includes a driving pivot. A drive link is attached to the driving pivot at a drive force receiving end of the drive link, the drive link including a driven pivot at a drive force communicating end of the drive link. The driven pivot is attached to the load engaging mechanism, whereby linear motion of the driving pivot causes motion of the load along the curved path.

Abstract: A roll screen cassette for installation in a closure assembly having a frame for moveably retaining a closure member, the frame including a header, sill, and vertical jamb sections, at least one of the sections including a pocket formed within the interior thereof, the pocket having a first predetermined configuration defined by the interior of the section and for receipt of the roll screen, the roll screen comprising a pair of brackets from which the roll screen is pivotally supported, the pair of brackets having a second predetermined configuration compatible with the pocket of the frame section having the first predetermined configuration, the pair of brackets utilized for removeably retaining the roll screen within the pocket in use, the pair of brackets and roll screen being removeably held in position with respect to said frame only by the pocket having the first predetermined configuration and the pair of brackets having a second predetermined configuration compatible with the pocket and being located in the pocket in use, wherein the compatible shapes of the pair of brackets and the pocket when installed in the frame section cooperate to prevent the pair of brackets from rotating with respect to the pocket and the frame when the roll screen is let out or taken in use.

Abstract: A continuous roll of screen which may be payed out from said roll by an installer or manufacturer to a required predetermined window size, or alternatively patio door size, said screen comprising a free end which allows the installer to pay the screen off of the roll upon which the screen is accumulated course upon course, one end of said screen being disposed at the end of the courses accumulated on the roll from which the screening is payed off and the other end being a free end, said screen having side edges and preferably being manufactured from preferably vinyl-coated fiberglass, the edges of said screen having affixed thereto a generally preferably T-shaped key manufactured from a flexible material, for example polyvinyl chloride, which is affixed preferably by radio frequency welding (or RF welding) with the edges and preferably each of the edges, and in one embodiment at least one edge of said screen, wherein the vinyl coating provided on the screen melds with the polyvinyl chloride key to form a resilient anchor for the screen device within any screen roller assembly.

Abstract: A power door operator for transit vehicles utilizing a rodless pneumatic cylinder as a prime mover in opening and closing doors in the sidewall of a transit vehicles. Door movement having a controlled, predetermined door edge force is achieved through mechanical coupling an external piston of the rodless cylinder and vehicle doors through and endless toothed belt. Magnetic coupling between internal and external pistons of the cylinder provide controlled force having a maximum or breakaway value applied to the operated door. A novel reaction lock operated by admission of pressurized air to the cylinder latches or unlatches the operated door in its closed position subsequent or prior to door closing or opening. Control of door motion at the ends of its travel is achieved through the use of a novel differential area internal piston in the pneumatic cylinder. Available internal piston force is modified for predetermined piston positions on approaching either end of the cylinder through the use of a sliding rod contained by the pressure sensitive internal position. Movement of the sliding rod adjust the effective piston area so as to modify available force to controlling door motion. An additional embodiment of the invention disclosed utilizes direct panel locking means independent of the operator drive belt.

Abstract: An improved automatic door closure is provided for a door which has a door post mounted by two or more members attached to a door jamb. The door closure comprises a roller which is mounted on the door jam, a cam which is mounted on the door post so that it will rotate with the door post but is capable of limited movement relative to the post in an axial direction, and a spring for urging the cam against the roller as the door is swung between open and closed positions. The cam is contoured so as to cause it and the roller to coact with spring arranged to cause the door to return from open to closed position without any operator applied force. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the door closure apparatus comprises a compression spring for urging the door to close, and an adjustable mechanism for varying the force exerted by that spring.

Abstract: A multi-panel closure is disclosed in which a fastening member comprising a pair of integral back-to-back channels is positioned between the facing pair of edges of adjacent panels.
