Abstract:
A portable electronic device comprising a image sensor for capturing image data and a audio sensor for capturing audio data. The portable device further comprising a processor coupled to said image sensor and said audio sensor, said processor having a first and second mode of operation, and a capture key coupled to said processor for initiating the first mode of operation, wherein said processor captures audio data and video data in the first mode of operation and is operable to capture audio data in the second mode of operation and the second mode of operation follows the first mode of operation.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus is connected to a terminal apparatus via a network. The communication apparatus includes a storage that stores a document file and an HTML file of a user setting page. A file manager stores a storage period for the document file, determines whether or not the document file has been stored in the storage for the storage period, and deletes the document file when the document file has been stored in the storage for the storage period. A web server transmits, to the terminal apparatus, the HTML file of the user setting page, the user setting page configured so that a user at the terminal apparatus can request a change of the storage period. The web server further instructs the file manager to change the storage period, when the user requests the change of the storage period.
Abstract:
A storage device includes a controller that is configured to execute safe deletion operations so as to free up storage space on the device in response to triggering events. The safe deletion operations ensure that the data states of a host device making use of the storage device and the storage device itself are synchronized so as to prevent deletion of data from the storage device before it is offloaded to another storage platform.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus configured to display a screen using information acquired from a server apparatus includes a recording unit configured to record acquisition destination information for acquiring the information from the server apparatus, a receiving unit configured to receive, from the sever apparatus, a logoff notification indicating that a user has logged off the server apparatus, and a deletion unit configured to delete the recorded acquisition destination information in response to the receiving unit receiving the logoff notification.
Abstract:
A digital camera includes an insertion unit for inserting a storage medium, an image pickup unit, a control unit for storing an image picked up by the image pickup unit onto a storage medium inserted into the insertion unit, and a medium detection unit for detecting whether the storage medium inserted into the insertion unit is a storage medium in which rewrite is limited.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus has a plurality of recording media, and includes an imaging unit operable to capture an image of a subject, and a recording unit operable to record image data of the captured image onto the recording media such that the amounts of recorded image data differ between the recording media. The same image data is recorded onto at least a first recording medium built in the apparatus and a second recording medium removable from the apparatus such that the amount of data recorded on the first medium is smaller than that recorded on the second medium. In this information processing apparatus, a user can view images captured previously with more ease because image data recorded on the first recording medium is sorted by date and is provided to the user in this state.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus stores image data generated from a document scanned by a scanner on a removable medium. When storage on the removable medium is not completed, part of the image data that has been stored by that time is deleted from the removable medium.
Abstract:
A camera including a processor and an image sensor, memory device, and communication port that are electrically coupled with the processor. The image sensor captures image data and transmits it to the processor, which sends it to the memory device for storage. After the image data is downloaded from the camera through the communication port, the processor becomes disabled. Preferably, the memory device is a volatile memory device that is permanently connected with a power supply. Preferably, the communication port is a standard USB receptacle. Preferably, the image data is deleted from the memory device after it is downloaded from the camera. Preferably, the camera includes a sealed housing that contains the processor, image sensor and memory device.
Abstract:
An image-sharing server of an image-sharing system acquires candidate storage data including an update image currently displayed on an image-providing terminal. When, for instance, a predetermined reception band of a second image-receiving terminal is narrower than an optimum transmission band of the image-providing terminal, the image-sharing server specifies the last update data in an order for the update data to be stored in a second transmission buffer as comparison data. Further, when determining that an update region of the comparison data is included in an update region of the candidate storage data, the image-sharing server deletes the comparison data and stores the candidate storage data in the second transmission buffer. Subsequently, the image-sharing server transmits the update data of the second transmission buffer to a second receiving terminal in the order for the update data to be stored to update the image currently displayed on the second image-receiving terminal to update data.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment of the invention, a camera determines whether to acquire an image (e.g., automatically), determines whether to store the acquired image, and determines how to store the acquired image.
