    摘要: Fluid diffuser and method for constructing the same are disclosed. The fluid diffuser including a pair of disks having opposite, facing surfaces of revolution with a common axis of symmetry for defining a fluid flow path. The cross-section of the fluid flow path normal to the direction of flow is constructed and arranged so that the cross-section varies continuously with the radial distance from the common axis of symmetry so as to provide uniform fluid flow velocities in plane and in section at the periphery of the diffuser. The method for manufacturing the fluid diffuser includes rigidly fastening together a plurality of elements shaped to conform to the shape of the inner surface of the diffuser so as to form a skeletal frame. Thereafter, a unitary sheet of resilient material is stretched on the frame to cover the same thus causing the material to define the desired surface, the stretch material being fastened by suitable means to the frame.

    摘要: A heating system for automobiles utilizing the hot water from the engine cooling system as a heat source includes a heating radiator and a heat accumulating water tank, and pipe lines are provided between the engine cooling system, heating radiator and heat accumulating water tank. The flow passages of the cooling water through the pipe lines are switched by electromagnetic valves provided in the pipe lines so that the heating radiator and the heat accumulating water tank are connected in series or in parallel with each other with respect to the engine cooling system, or a circulating passage is formed between the heating radiator and the heat accumulating water tank. The heat accumulating water tank has a mixing preventing device to prevent cold cooling water flowing into the water tank from mixing with hot water contained in the water tank.

    摘要: The invention relates to a surface tension storage tank comprising a liquid outlet from where the liquid can be expelled under the action of a pressurant gas. A collector device issues into a chamber of a tubular device which also comprises a draining conduit opening at one end at the bottom of said chamber, the other end being situated higher than the first when the tank is being filled. On the side opposite its bottom, the chamber is situated close to the liquid-expelling orifice from which it is separated by an outlet gas barrier. Gas barriers are also provided at the other end of the conduit and on the level of the junction of the collector device with the said chamber.

    摘要: A humidifier for use with a forced air heating system. The humidifier comprises a water reservoir in the form of a sealed container having a water inlet connection and suitable control means for maintaining the level of the water at a predetermined depth within the reservoir. An electric immersion type heater is also provided within the sealed container at a level which is normally below the water level and, when energized, heats the water to produce steam. The reservoir can be mounted completely external to a duct of the forced air heating system, but an inverted U-shaped tube having preparations along the base thereof is disposed within the duct and has its parallel legs passing through the duct and reservoir so as to communicate with the portion of the reservoir above the level of the water therein. As such, the steam passes through the U-shaped tube and out its perforations to thereby add moisture to the air passing through the duct. A clean-out panel is provided in the reservoir, and because the reservoir itself is disposed external to the duct, the panel may be opened to permit scale and other particulate matter to be removed with little difficulty.
