摘要: A router is configured for deployment in a first domain of a network. The router includes a processor and a transmitter. The processor is configured to access addresses of egress routers for a multicast flow that are partitioned into local addresses of egress routers in the first domain and external addresses of egress routers in a second domain of the network. The processor is also configured to prepend an explicit multicast route (EMR) to a packet in the multicast flow to form a first EMR packet. The EMR includes information representing the external addresses. The transmitter is configured to unicast the first EMR packet to an advertising border router (ABR) that conveys the multicast flow from the first domain to the second domain. In some cases, the router includes a receiver configured to receive another EMR packet from another router in another domain via a tunnel between the routers.

摘要: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for providing reliable switching between different transport protocols (e.g., TCP and UDP) are presented herein. In some embodiments, a computing platform may stop transmission over a transport protocol. Subsequently, the computing platform may synchronize buffers between a client and a host. For example, the buffer may include acknowledgments for undelivered reliable packets between the client and the host. Next, the computing platform may resume transmission over a different transport protocol. In some embodiments, when establishing an initial connection between a client and a host, connections may be attempted in parallel over multiple transport protocols. After a connection over a first transport protocol is established, if a connection is later established over a second transport protocol, the connection may be transitioned to the second transport protocol. Also, ticketing semantics may be preserved in the switch between the different transport protocols.

摘要: A system having scalable sockets to support User Datagram Protocol (UDP) connections identifies a plurality of UDP connections, wherein a plurality of remote clients connect to corresponding ones of the plurality of UDP connections. Each one of a plurality of UDP sockets is associated with a corresponding one of the plurality of UDP connections. A network stack lookup for UDP packets in network traffic is performed using a network stack to identify the UDP socket corresponding to the remote client associated with each of the UDP packet. The UDP packets are buffered with a send buffer and a receive buffer for the UDP socket corresponding to the remote client associated with the UDP packets as determined by the network stack lookup to support communication over the plurality of UDP connections using the plurality of UDP sockets. The system thereby operates more efficiently and/or is more scalable.

摘要: A system includes a plurality of remote units; a centralized unit communicatively coupled to the plurality of remote units via a fronthaul network; and an entity that performs deep packet inspection. The centralized unit transmits sets of data to the plurality of remote units across the fronthaul network in packets, each of the sets of data mapped to at least one of the plurality of remote units and each of the packets including a respective indicator indicating each remote unit the associated packet is intended for, wherein each indicator comprises a plurality of bit positions where each bit position is mapped to a different one of the plurality of remote units. The entity performs the deep packet inspection on the packets to determine each remote unit the packets are intended for and communicate each packet to each remote unit the packet is intended for over the fronthaul network.

The use of a layer three or layer four protocol provides an ability to span multiple links or networks between the source node and destination node, while also collecting the physical layer properties. Once physical layer properties along a network path can be understood, decisions relating to the configuration of the network path and/or whether to communicate via the network path are improved.

摘要: Peer-to-peer video streaming software that takes video from a host's Graphical Processing Unit (GPU), moves it to the encoder, manages the color conversions, moves the video into the networking software, and in turn manages the video on a client. This software also handles the inputs from the client and tells the host how to react to the client's inputs. In executing the video streaming, the host broadcasts and renders the video that is or will be streamed. It encodes the video frame with a hardware encoder that is part of the GPU to eliminate latency associated with transferring frames to the central processing unit (CPU). The host transmits compressed video and audio data to the client, and the client uses its hardware decoder and the video streaming software to render the video. The client sends mouse, keyboard, joystick, and controller signals to the host, which varies the bit rate based on the network connection.
