    摘要: A cable car carriage for transporting goods or passengers has two opposing spaced-apart crawlers. Each of the crawlers has a crawler chain composed of juxtaposed chain links. A support cable can be inserted between the opposing crawlers on the opposing chain links of the crawler chains. A pressing mechanism connects the crawlers with one another, and is designed to adjust the distance between the crawlers as well as the pressing force of the two crawlers relative to each other and/or the pressing force of the two crawlers against the support cable. The crawler chains are driven in a circulating movement by a drive via a crawler running gear, thus moving the cable car carriage along the support cable. A cable crane, a passenger gondola, a cable saddle, and a transport assembly employing the cable car carriage are also disclosed.

Transfer mechanisms (800, 810) allow the cable to loop to a starting location or to transport between discrete endpoints. A trolley (200) carrying the payload may be powered by gravity alone, or a motorized assist may allow the cable course to be traversed without regard to relative elevations of cable supports. A motor may serve as a regenerative speed governor or braking device to charge a power supply for travel against gravity. The system enables one or more riders (110) to travel along the guide cable (180) at velocities desired for recreational purposes while assuming many body positions, such as prone, sitting or standing, to provide the sensation of flying like a bird.

    摘要: A high force traction apparatus which operates along the cable linear axis with no cable bending. The cable is encircled with links from several looping chain drives. The links have a concave friction surface to match the cable radius. Rollers apply pressure to multiple links thereby providing a high normal force on the cable. The staggered and synchronized links keep the high squeeze force evenly distributed. This allows the traction apparatus to impose a pulling force that approaches the cable tensile limit without cable damage.

The drive roller with coacting structure for maintaining operative coaction with the band are settable to two main positions, viz, an operative and a neutral position, the band in the neutral position running freely while the drive roller with coacting structure being cantilevered so that the band can be freely taken aside for disengagement of the band from the drive, or for inserting the band from the side over the drive roller to coact therewith after resetting to the operative position. The inventive drive is primarily intended to be attachable to a skier allowing him to be towed up a hill along a band which is anchored at its upper end to a tree, for example.
