摘要： A novel high density receptacle is disclosed. The receptacle includes a housing portion, having a plurality of openings formed in its front face. A first column containing a first number of contact elements is positioned in relation to the housing so that the receiving portions of the contact elements are aligned with certain of the openings. A second column containing a second number of contact elements is positioned in relation to the housing so that the receiving portions of the contact elements are aligned with other of said openings. It is preferred for the receptacle to include a plurality of said first and second columns, wherein the columns are arranged side by side in an alternating pattern. The first column preferably includes a first wafer, wherein the contact elements are attached to said first wafer. A peg is formed on one of the side surfaces of the first wafer. The second column is preferably constructed similar to the first column, however, the second wafer to has a bore formed therein. When the first and second wafers are arranged side by side, the peg of the first wafer is inserted into the bore of the second wafer.

摘要： An electrical connector having a front retaining shell and a rear housing with aligned longitudinal contact receiving passageways. A molded wafer is positioned between the housing and a circuit board. This wafer has apertures for receiving conductive contacts and the grounding legs on the front shell. A pair of rigid posts project upwardly from the wafer to engage the housing. Another pair of rigid posts project downwardly from the wafer to engage the circuit board. Relative dislocation of the conductive contacts, the grounding legs and the circuit board attachments is thus avoided so as to facilitate robotic placement of the connector.

摘要： A high speed, low impedance shielded connector is disclosed. The shield is formed of sheet material and includes multiple integral shield-to-plug contacts in a limited longitudinal space. Such contacts are forwardly facing, to reduce ground path lengths or are arranged substantially parallel to a plug insertion axis, to below development of high normal forces. Shielding of an array of connectors is enhanced by the use of transverse flanges having interfitting sections that provide effective shielding are allow close spacing or adjacent connectors in the array.

摘要： A connector apparatus for receiving a card-like data processing medium in a frame element having a rear transverse element and a pair of longitudinal elements. A header is disposed adjacent the rear element of the frame member and an actuator bar for moving the card-like data processing medium out of engagement with the header is provided. 摘要： An electrical connector element comprises a body of electrically insulating material having contact holes that are provided with an electrical conductive contact element, and the contact holes arranged in at least two columns and at least two rows, the columns having a longitudinal direction; and shielding elements of electrically conductive plate material being disposed in the body. The shielding elements are shaped and arranged so that at least two shielding elements are positioned such that a select number of neighboring contact elements are always entirely shielded from each other by parts of one of the at least two shielding elements. The at least two shielding elements are shaped and arranged within one column in such a way that an open portion of each shielding element is not adjacent to an open portion of a neighboring shielding element. At least one of the shielding elements is adapted to be electrically coupled with a ground contact member of a mating connector. At least the one of the at least two shielding elements comprises an integral resilient contact member for contacting the ground contact member of the mating connector. The resilient contact member is provided with a generally curved contact surface near its end.
