摘要： Drone-based wireless communications systems are provided, as are methods carried-out by such wireless communications systems. In one embodiment, the wireless communications system includes a Satellite Signal Transformation (SST) unit and a plurality of aerial network drones, which can be deployed over a designated geographical area to form a multi-drone network thereover. During operation, the SST unit transmits a network source signal, which contains content extracted from a satellite signal. The multi-drone network receives the network source signal, disseminates drone relay signals containing the content through the multi-drone network, and broadcastings user device signals containing the content over the designated geographical area. In embodiments, the multi-drone network may broadcast multiple different types of user device signals for reception by various different types of user devices located within the designated geographical area, such as an arear containing communication infrastructure disabled by a natural disaster, a hostile attack, or other catastrophic event.

摘要： A set-top-box is provided for receiving broadcast media content and processing said content for presentation on a display. A processor of the STB is configured to receive, from between a router circuit and a modem circuit, data packets sent over a local network. The data packets are sent to or from a local internet connected user device via the router as part of the local network. The processor is further configured to analyze the received data packets to determine whether they contain undesired content and, if so, to control the display to present an indicator containing at least one property of the detected undesired content. Because the STB is coupled to a display that tends to be the main display in a household, the indicator is more likely to be seen and acted on by a responsible party, thus parents will be more easily able to monitor the activity of their children when they use user devices to access the internet over a home network.

摘要： In various embodiments, a television monitor wall mount is provided that allows a television monitor to be mounted flush against a wall, such as directly against the SHEETROCK, drywall or other wall surface material. When attached behind a wall to a wall stud, the television wall mount serves as a bracket to support the weight of the television monitor that is located on the front side of the wall. The weight of the television monitor is supported by bolts which extend through a mounting plate surface behind the wall and through the wall and into the back of the television monitor that is on the front side of the wall. When tightened, these bolts secure the back of the television monitor flush against the first front side of the wall.

摘要： Described herein are methods and systems for automatically selecting television channels for display on one or more televisions based on the viewing preferences of the viewers. The viewers can enter their viewing preferences in a database through a user interface that a controller can access. The controller can receive, for a premises (e.g., a sports bar), a list of viewers. Based on the viewing preferences of the list of viewers, the controller can determine a single or a ranked list of television channels for display on the televisions. If there are multiple televisions, the controller can assign each of the televisions a television channel from the ranked list based on the ranking. The controller can send an instruction to the STB controlling the television(s) to set the assigned television channel to the assigned television.

摘要： An approach for through-hole component soldering for a PCB, and a resulting PCB assembly, that eliminates protruding solder joints, is provided. The approach comprises back-drilling, from a bottom surface of a PCB, one or more through-holes, wherein each back-drilled through-hole is back-drilled to a depth partially through the PCB and at a diameter that is larger than the diameter of the through hole. Solder paste is applied to the PCB. The components are placed on the PCB, inserting each pin into a corresponding through-hole. The PCB is passed through a solder process, whereby, within each through-hole having a component pin inserted therein, the solder paste is wicked into the through-hole, and forms a solder joint with the respective pin. Each solder joint of a back-drilled through-hole is situated within the through-hole in a manner whereby the solder joint does not protrude beyond the bottom surface of the PCB.

A transmission center, uplink or other gateway suitably recognizes when content requests from multiple different nodes are simultaneously requesting delivery of the same content. When the same content is recognized, the gateway device allocates shared bandwidth on the data transmission link for the requested content that is accessible to both the first and second nodes.

摘要： A Wi-Fi mesh network uses a co-axial radio frequency (RF) cable to communicate between a central Wi-Fi mesh network node and one or more satellite Wi-Fi mesh network nodes instead of communicating wirelessly over the air between those nodes. In an example embodiment, the Wi-Fi signals are down-converted to a ˜500 MHz frequency range at the central Wi-Fi mesh network node and then passed through the RF cable. At the receiving end, the down-converted signal is then up-converted back from the ˜500 MHz frequency range to one of the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz or 6 GHz frequency bands, which may then be wirelessly transmitted via Wi-Fi chipset of the satellite Wi-Fi mesh network node.
