    Abstract: A multimedia data transmission apparatus and method are provided. In the method, a data receiver receives at least one channel of multimedia data and transmits the received multimedia data to a selector and a data synthesis module. The selector selects target multimedia data from the received multimedia data and transmits the target multimedia data to a data processing module. The data processing module performs a format conversion on the target multimedia data to obtain converted data and transmits the converted data to a data transmitting module. The data synthesis module synthesizes the received multimedia data to obtain synthesized data and transmits the synthesized data to the data transmitting module. The data transmitting module transmits the converted data to a first processing device and transmits the synthesized data to a second processing device.

    Abstract: The technology described herein is directed towards an uplink video streaming technology including for private networks that use low-cost mobile devices with reduced hardware capabilities (RedCap in 3GPP). The technology adapts the video quality (bitrate) from the content producer side based on the device capability data of the content consumer, leveraging that both are co-located in the same network. The technology can use machine learning to identify correlated devices with suboptimal video quality, and to propose new uplink data rate limiting data (e.g., PRB quota) for the content provider, to enforce an updated (e.g., reduced) video quality independent of any streaming application. The technology reduces spectrum loss, energy consumption and video rebuffering that otherwise often occur when videos are generated with high quality beyond the capabilities of the video consumers (e.g., including RedCap devices).

    Abstract: A method for determining an initial bitrate for a communication includes receiving a communication request to establish a digital communication between a first user device and a second user device associated with a plurality of features including a geographical identifier identifying a geographical location associated with the first user device, a first network type connection associated with the first user device, a second network type connection associated with the second user device, and an average bitrate for a previous digital communication of the first user device. The method includes determining, using an initial bitrate predictor model configured to receive the plurality of features as feature inputs, an initial bitrate for the digital communication between the first user device and the second user device, and establishing the digital communication between the first user device and the second user device at the determined initial bitrate.

    Abstract: An illustrative content server system associated with a server domain may transmit, to a client device associated with a client domain, a data stream representing media content. The media content is represented at a first quality level for presentation within a presentation environment as the data stream is transmitted. Based on environment data captured in the client domain to represent real-time conditions of the presentation environment as the media content is presented, the content server system may determine an engagement parameter representing a real-time engagement level of a user with respect to the media content. Based on this engagement parameter, the content server system may adjust, in real time during the transmitting of the data stream and presentation of the media content, the data stream to represent the media content at a second quality level that is different from the first quality level. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.
