Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). The embodiments of the present invention provide methods and devices for network access. The method includes receiving a first request message forwarded by a distributed unit in a base station and indication information of the distributed unit with respect to the first request message, the first request message requesting to connect a user equipment to a network; determining a processing to be performed on the first request message based on the indication Information; and transmitting an indication of the determined processing to the distributed unit.

Abstract: A method of transmitting an acknowledgement (ACK) signal in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes: establishing a first wireless connection between a first and second electronic devices; establishing a second wireless connection between the first electronic device and a source device; transmitting, by the first electronic device, communication parameter information to the second electronic device; transmitting, by the first electronic device, a data request to the source device; receiving, by the first electronic device, a data packet from the source device in response to the data request; receiving, by the second electronic device, the data packet from the source device based on the communication parameter information; transmitting, by the first electronic device, a first ACK signal to the second electronic device; and transmitting, by the second electronic device, a second ACK signal to the source device based on the first ACK signal.

Abstract: A communication method and system for converging a fifth generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a fourth generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of things (IoT) are provided. The communication method and system may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A method of a terminal for performing a random access procedure in a wireless communication system is provided. In addition, a method by a terminal for system information (SI) request is provided. A method includes receiving, from a base station, information on resources for SI request including information on a start index of at least one random access preamble for the SI request; receiving, from the base station, at least one synchronization signal block (SSB); selecting an SSB among the at least one SSB; determining a preamble for the SI request corresponding to the selected SSB based on the information on the start index; and transmitting, to the base station, the determined preamble based on a physical random access channel (PRACH) occasion corresponding to the selected SSB.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for scheduling on a cell from different cells. A method for operating a UE includes receiving first information for first and second scheduling cells of a scheduled cell and second information for receptions of physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) from the first and second scheduling cells. The PDCCHs provide downlink control information (DCI) formats. The DCI formats schedule physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmissions, or physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) receptions, on the scheduled cell. The method further includes determining whether to receive the PDCCHs either only from the first scheduling cell or only from the second scheduling cell within a time unit based on the second information and receiving the PDCCHs either only from the first scheduling cell or only from the second scheduling cell within the time unit.

Abstract: A communication technique of fusing a fifth generation (5G) communication for supporting higher data transmission rate beyond a fourth generation (4G) system with an Internet of things (IoT) technology and a system thereof is provided. The technique may be applied to an intelligent service (smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail business, security and safety related service, or the like) based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT related technology. A method is provided for effectively managing a registration state for a terminal in a 5G core network such as an access and mobility management function (AMF) in a situation of accessing a 5G network via a non-3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) access.
