Abstract:
A respiratory device for delivering gas to a patient comprises a gases passageway having proximal and distal ends, and a supplementary gas inlet in a side wall of the gases passageway. The supplementary gas inlet is adapted to direct gas along an interior surface of the gases passageway, such that the gas follows a generally helical path towards the distal end of the gases passageway.
Abstract:
A device used to fasten a myriad of imaging units, including a large variety of camera enabled cell phones to a variety of optical systems, such as microscopes, in a non-restrictive, non-specific manor.
Abstract:
A wet disc brake system is described which includes a housing assembly and brake callipers. The housing assembly is provided with openings for seating cylinders of respective brake callipers. The callipers are coupled to a structural component of a vehicle to which the system is fitted and in particular a flange of an axle housing. This enables reactive forces created during a braking operation to be transmitted via the callipers to the flange and axle housing rather than being carried by housing assembly. As the housing assembly does not bear any substantive load, it may be made of a relatively light weight construction or material.
Abstract:
A data reporting framework that works across on-premise and hosted Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms enabling definition and execution of secure custom reports is provided. A fetch query language of a CRM platform is used along with reporting service tools and constructs to enable users to upload and execute custom fetch based reports with support for expressions, code, formatting, and drill through. Users are also enabled to build simple reports from within CRM and, if needed, enhance those reports using reporting service tools and re-upload in CRM. Furthermore, custom reports may be executed in a sandboxed environment to provide full security in a multi-tenant, hosted CRM system.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for stereo-based proximity warning system for vehicle safety. The method comprising capturing a right and a left image utilizing the right and left of stereo cameras, performing stereo analysis and depth computation for comparing and determining the depth deviation between the current depth image with the depth model, updating the depth model when there is minimal or no deviation, otherwise, performing morphological operations for clean-up and connected components analysis, and determining if the object is too close to be safe utilizing the component analysis, and generating a warning when the object is too close.
Abstract:
An emergency brake system (10) comprises first and second fluid communication paths (20) and (22) which provide fluid communication between a brake (18) and a hydraulic fluid tank (24). A first valve is provided in the first path (20) to vary pressure in the brake line (26) to a pressure P1 enabling the brake to apply a braking torque of T1 and a second valve (30) is provided in the path (22) to vary brake line pressure to a pressure P2 enabling the brake (18) to apply a braking torque of T2 where T2>T1. The system (10) senses the speed of a machine to which the brake (18) is coupled. Depending on the sensed speed of the machine when the emergency brake (18) is applied the system (10) will open one or both of the paths to control the braking torque applied by the brake (18).
Abstract:
This invention provides caspase inhibitors of formula I: wherein Z is oxygen or sulfur; R1 is hydrogen, —CHN2, R, CH2OR, CH2SR, or —CH2Y; between R3 and R4 represents a single or double bond; Y is an electronegative leaving group; R2 is CO2H, CH2CO2H, or esters, amides or isosteres thereof; R3 is a group capable of fitting into the S2 subsite of a caspase enzyme; R4 is a hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl or R3 and R4 taken together form a ring; Ring A and Ring B are each heterocyclic rings, and R and R5 are as described in the specification. The compounds are effective inhibitors of apoptosis and IL-1β secretion.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel classes of compounds of formula I which are caspase and TNF-alpha inhibitors. This invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds. The compounds and pharmaceutical compositions of this invention are particularly well suited for inhibiting caspase and TNF-alpha activity and consequently, can be advantageously used as agents against caspase-, interleukin-1-(“IL-1”), apoptosis-, interferon-γ inducing factor-(IGIF), interferon-γ-(“IFN-γ”), or TNF-alpha mediated diseases, including inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, destructive bone disorders, proliferative disorders, infectious diseases, and degenerative diseases. This invention also relates to processes for preparing the compounds of this invention. This invention also relates to methods for inhibiting caspase and TNF-alpha activity and decreasing IGIF production and IFN-γ production and methods for treating caspase-, interleukin-1, apoptosis-, and interferon-γ-, and TNF-alpha mediated diseases using the compounds and compositions of this invention.
