One embodiment of the phase-locked loop comprises an oscillator, a counter, a comparator, and a delay arrangement. The counter comprises a first input connected to the oscillator, a second input connected to a reference frequency terminal, and an output. An input of the comparator is connected to the output of the counter and an output of the comparator to the oscillator. The delay arrangement is connected between the oscillator and the first input of the counter or between the reference frequency terminal and the second input of the counter. The delay arrangement delays an input signal sent to an input of the delay arrangement, as a function of a sequence signal and makes a delayed signal available at an output of the delay arrangement.

A ground speed control system for an outdoor power equipment unit comprises a slidable handle grip that moves up and down on a handle to decrease and increase the ground speed, respectively. A pivotal control lever is provided on the handle grip. The pivotal lever includes a toothed sector gear. A toothed rack is fixed to the handle. Normally, the sector gear and toothed rack are out of engagement with each other during sliding motion of the handle grip. However, if the operator pivots the control lever to engage the sector gear with the rack, cooperation between the teeth of the sector gear and the teeth of the rack will move the slidable handle grip further down the handle to provide a temporary speed increase and will also lock the handle grip to the handle to provide cruise control capability. The handle grip is U-shaped and has two legs telescopically received inside the open upper ends of a pair of spaced handle tubes.

The present invention provides methods and systems for automated morphological analysis of cells. The inventive methods are particularly useful in the rapid analysis of cells required in a biological screen. Agents which cause a particular phenotype in the cells can be identified using the inventive quantitative morphometric analysis of cells. The data gathered using the inventive method can also be quantified and analyzed later for various trends and classifications. Characteristics of cells which can be determined using this method include number of nuclei, size of cell, size of nuclei, number of the centrosomes, shape of cells, size of centrosomes, perimeter of nucleus, shape of nucleus, pattern of staining, and degree of staining.

A first circuit supplies power from a fluorescent light power source to a fluorescent lamp. The power converter of an external device can be electrically connected to any two points within that circuit to create a second circuit to supply power to the external device. The power converter may be connected to the first circuit via one or more power coupling or power tether. At least one of the two points within the first circuit may comprise a pin of the fluorescent lamp. Alternatively, at least one of the two points may comprise a connector of a fluorescent light fixture designed to receive a pin of the fluorescent lamp or a point within the fluorescent ballast of the fluorescent light fixture.

The camera tracking system is used to determine the position and/or orientation of recording cameras and comprises emitter devices for emitting electromagnetic radiation. The emitter devices can be mechanically coupled to the recording camera. The camera tracking system further comprises detecting devices for detecting the position of the emitter devices on the basis of the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the emitter devices, each detecting device being able to detect several emitter devices. A computer unit evaluates the electromagnetic radiation detected by the detecting devices and emitted by the emitter device, and determines the position and/or orientation of the emitter devices in relation to the detecting devices.

A flake-based pigment is provided having improved specular reflectance characteristics in the visible wavelength range. The flake-based pigment has a plurality of composite reflective flakes each formed of a support layer and a reflector layer on one or both opposing sides of the support layer. This flake structure exhibits a uniaxial compressive strength much greater than a corresponding uniaxial tensile strength. The structure of the flakes provides the benefits of rigidity and brittle fracture during manufacture and application processes, which ultimately provides favorable planar and specular reflectance characteristics to the pigment in the visible wavelength range. A variety of outer coating layers can be formed around the composite reflective flakes, such as various dielectric and/or absorber layers, to produce desired optical characteristics in the pigment.
