Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hand-held dispensing applicator comprising a source of fluid, a frangible applicator tip attached to the fluid source, and an absorbent member attached to the frangible applicator tip. When the frangible applicator tip is broken, fluid flows from the source to the absorbent member, whereby the fluid is applied and spread on a surface. In one embodiment, the dispensing applicator comprises a support element permanently connected to the fluid source, a relatively rigid tongue element extending outwardly of the support element, and a frangible region there between. Optionally, the tongue element comprises ribs for reinforcing the tongue element to resist unintentional breaking of the frangible region. Also optionally, the applicator tip comprises a semi-permeable or non-permeable partial shield member disposed around the frangible region to control the speed and direction of the dispersion of the fluid in the absorbent member. Adaptive embodiments allow the generation of designs applicable to a particular medical purpose.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a polypeptide which comprises: (i) an Rv3616c protein sequence; (ii) a variant of an Rv3616c protein sequence; or (iii) an immunogenic fragment of an Rv3616c protein sequence for use in the treatment or prevention of latent TB. In other aspects the invention is directed to associated polynucleotides, fusion proteins and methods for the treatment or prevention of latent tuberculosis.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and a system of on demand network activity reporting through a dynamic file system and method are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes forming a root level selection guide based on a set of criteria associated with an activity through a network that is captured and stored on a storage device associated with a network appliance, refreshing listings of a sub-directory of the root level selection guide dynamically based on the activity through the network stored on the storage device when an option is selected in the root level selection guide, and creating a packet capture file based on a current state of the activity through the network when one of the listings of the sub-directory of the root level selection guide is selected. The method may include automatically referencing a database having the activity through the network when creating the packet capture file.
Abstract:
A method, system, and apparatus for indexing network traffic meta-data is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes identifying a packet having a header and a payload in a flow of a data through a network, classifying the header of the packet in a type of the header, determining an algorithm to extract a meta-data (e.g., which may be stored in a database of the storage device, and the storage device may be limited in a storage capacity) having information relevant to network traffic visibility based on the type of the header, extracting the meta-data from the header, and streaming the meta-data to a storage device. The method may include applying a last recently used algorithm to discard information from the storage device when storage device is limited in the storage capacity. The method may also include determining that the type of the header is an Ethernet header.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tectosilicate having an X-ray diffraction pattern in which at least the following reflections occur: Intensity (%)Diffraction angle 2θ/° [Cu K(alpha 1)] 100 9.8-10.2 24-3411.0-11.4 9-1915.5-15.9 12-2219.4-19.6 19-2919.6-19.8 100% relating to the intensity of the maximum peak in the X-ray diffraction pattern.
Abstract:
Hydrophobic coating compositions are provided as are processes to coat articles with the compositions. Extremely hydrophobic coatings are provided by the compositions. Durable, weatherable and scratch-resistant coatings are provided by compositions comprising a fluorinated component and an adhesion promoter compound. The adhesion promoter compound can include an alkoxy group, a furfuryl-containing ring structure, and a reactive group.
Abstract:
In a combustor section, wherein a forward sleeve is disposed to encircle a leading end of an impingement sleeve comprised of first and second impingement sleeve parts abutted along a longitudinal junction thereof, a retainer member disposed to overlie the longitudinal junction. The retainer member is welded to at least one of said forward sleeve and the impingement sleeve. The retainer member has first and second axial end edges disposed transverse to the longitudinal junction, and at least one of the axial end edges has a cutout defined therein and disposed to overlie the longitudinal junction.
Abstract:
A thrust bearing (16) for transmitting axial thrust forces between at least two gear parts (1, 5) rotating relative to each other in a gear arrangement is provided, with two coaxial, opposing race disks (17, 18) holding a cage (6) with a plurality of roller bodies (7) with radial play. To prevent discharge of lubricant to the greatest possible extent radially from the thrust bearing (16) and accordingly to be able to guarantee a sufficient axial supply of lubricant to the gear arrangement, it is provided that one race disk (17) has a smaller outer diameter than the other race disk (18), that both race disks (17, 18) each have external collars (19, 20) on the radially outer edge that extend axially inwardly, and the external collar (19) of the race disk (17) with the smaller outer diameter is covered axially by the external collar (20) of the race disk (18) with the greater outer diameter, such that an extensive encapsulation of the thrust bearing (16) against lubricant passage is guaranteed.
Abstract:
A hinged, composite door having a vertically extending series of horizontally extending panels, adjacent panels of which are hinged to one another. Each panel has a thicker central layer of a lightweight material sandwiched between thin, inner and outer sheet metal layers. A hard, durable insert with a shank portion and an enlarged head portion is provided at a juncture between adjacent panels, the insert having a shank portion embedded in a recess in the central layer of one of the panels and an enlarged head portion that extends beyond the one of the panels to be received in a complementally-shaped recess of the central layer of the adjacent panel when the panels are in alignment with one another.
