Abstract:
A process for producing a lysosomal enzyme having a mannose-6-phosphate-containing acidic sugar chain, wherein the process comprising: culturing in a medium yeast cells obtained by introducing a lysosomal enzyme gene into a sugar chain biosynthetic enzyme gene mutant strain of yeast, collecting a lysosomal enzyme having a phosphate-containing sugar chain from the culture, and then treating the enzyme with α-mannosidase; and pharmaceutical compositions for treatment of human lysosomal enzyme deficiencies produced by the process. The genetic engineering technique using the yeast according to the present invention allows large-amount and high-purity production of a glycoprotein having a phosphate-containing acidic sugar chain which can serve as a labeling marker for transporting into lysosomes in cells of mammals such as human. The glycoprotein having a phosphate-containing acidic sugar chain according to the invention may be utilized as a drug effective in treatment of human lysosomal enzyme deficiencies, etc.

Abstract:
An exhaust emission control system [1] comprising a continuous regenerating DPF [13] and a DPF controlling means [30C], wherein control is so performed as to accept the operation of a forced regenerating means [34C] at an operation request by a driver when it is judged a traveling distance [ΔMc] after starting collection detected by a traveling distance detecting means [33C] has reached a specified judging traveling distance [ΔM1] even when the DPF controlling means [30C] detects a collection amount [ΔPm] detected by a collection amount detecting means [32C] is smaller than a specified judging collection amount [ΔP1]. Accordingly, in a continuous regenerating DPF [13] capable of manual regenerating, the number of warning such as a blinking regeneration button prompting a manual regeneration is reduced to relieve a driver of trouble.

A torque fluctuation absorbing device includes a damping mechanism connected with an input shaft of a transmission. The damping mechanism has an approximately annular-shaped frictional member, which is fixed to both surfaces of a disc disposed at outer peripheral portion. The torque fluctuation absorbing device further includes a flywheel for transmitting driving force from a driving power source, a first plate rotated with the flywheel and abutting on a first surface of the frictional member, a second plate abutting on a second surface of the frictional member, a coned disk spring for biasing the second plate against the frictional member, a supporting member rotated with the first plate and supporting the coned disk spring, and a plurality of fixation members for fixing the first plate with the supporting member. The first plate includes a reinforcement portion which reinforces rigidity of the first plate at an inner circumference portion located radially inwardly relative to the frictional member.

A scroll compressor includes a first scroll and a second scroll. The first scroll has a step portion that separates an elevated portion and a recessed portion of a surface of the first scroll. A spiral wall of the second scroll has a step that separates an elevated portion and a recessed portion of the wall. A first bypass hole is provided in the elevated portion of the surface of the first scroll. A second bypass hole is provided in the recessed portion of the surface of the first scroll. The second bypass hole is within 360 degrees toward a center of the spiral of the first scroll from an outer end of the spiral. The first bypass hole is within 360 degrees from the second bypass hole toward the center of the spiral.
Abstract:
There is provided a fluid machine able to secure a sectional area of a passage sufficient for gaseous fluid flow from a suction port to a compression mechanism, while able at the same time to achieve a reduction in size of the outline shape. In a scroll compressor where a scroll compression mechanism 23 is housed within a housing 3 having a funnel shaped, a compression mechanism main body of the scroll compression mechanism 23 is arranged in a wide opening section of a front housing 5, and a compression mechanism driving section is arranged in a narrow section, a concave section 51 is formed on the outside of a thrust receiving surface 5B which is positioned on a bottom surface of the wide opening section and which supports the compression mechanism.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a novel carbon material for a electric double-layer capacitor having characteristics entirely different from prior art activated carbon. The capacitor develops a capacitance by a mechanism entirely different from the mechanism of an electric double-layer capacitor using activated carbon. The novel capacitor has improved performance including capacitance. The capacitor has polarized electrodes immersed in an organic electrolyte. The electrodes are made of a nonporous carbon having crystallites of graphite-like carbon. When a voltage is applied, electrolyte ions are intercalated between the layers of the crystallites of the graphite-like carbon together with the solvent. Thus, electric double layers are formed. Intercalation is induced by the first cycle of charging. In the second and following cycles, the capacitance is developed.
Abstract:
Present invention relates to an electric double-layer capacitor having positive and negative electrodes containing nonporous carbon as an electrode active material. In the nonporous carbon, multiple layers of graphene having an average interplanar spacing d002 of 0.350 to 0.380 nm have been grown well. The positive and negative electrodes are impregnated with an electrolyte solution. The nonporous carbon is obtained by activating easily graphitizable carbon, which in turn is obtained by calcining needle coke or pitch made infusible. The elctrolyte solution is either a liquid electrolyte having a planar molecular structure or an electrolyte solution consisting of a liquid electrolyte dissolved in an organic solvent.
