Abstract: A hand apparatus of a robot which is less likely to be damaged and can offer a reliable and effective gripping of a workpiece. The hand apparatus comprises a main frame which is mounted to a wrist member through a plurality of damper couplings. Pivotally mounted to the main frame are a pair of four-point-articulated link arms each having two arms extending parallel to each other. A sub-frame having a finger mounted thereon for pivotal movement in every direction is pivotally mounted to the leading end of the respective link arms. A pair of hydraulic cylinders are provided for moving the link arms in a gripping operation.

Abstract: A control system for positioning an implement using a power steering unit. Instead of connecting a rotary spool of the power steering unit with a steering wheel, the rotary spool is connected with a DC motor through reduction gears. An angular displacement of a control lever is detected by an angular position detector and an angular displacement of an implement is detected by another angular position detector. Signals from both detectors are fed into a comparator which is connected with an amplifier for rotating the DC motor in either direction in response to signals therefrom.

Abstract: In a vehicle-mounted navigator, a control unit reads map data from a memory unit and displays a corresponding road map on a CRT display unit. In response to signals from a distance sensor and a direction sensor, the present position in relation to the running of the automotive vehicle is computed to display by superimposition the present position on the road map display of the display unit. When the computed present position has reached to a predetermined portion of an adjacent area, the map data of the road map adjacent to the road map on display is read from the memory unit and a corresponding road map is displayed on the display unit manually or automatically. In accordance with this updated display, the present position display is moved to a corresponding position on the updated road map display.

Abstract: An automotive navigator using a microcomputer displays a car position by a cursor on a road map displayed on a CRT screen. The navigator uses a cassette tape which stores a plurality of road map data and several kinds of reduced map data and expanded map data. It also uses a group of manual switches including a switch for changing the displayed area, a switch for selecting an expanded map or reduced map and a switch for moving the cursor position. Necessary data are displayed on the screen by the state of each switch. A region corresponding to the cursor position is displayed by the expanded map.

Abstract: Inside a furnace body a number of material-stay spaces are set along a predetermined circular locus of travel of materials to be treated. The furnace body is divided into a heating chamber and a cooling chamber, and some of the stay spaces are located in the former chamber while the others are in the latter. A material is placed into one of the stay spaces located in the heating chamber, and heated therein. Then the material is moved into and stopped at one of the stay spaces located in the cooling chamber, and cooled therein. This process of heating and cooling the material is repeated a predetermined number of times so as to treat the material as desired.
