    摘要: An electronic clinical thermometer has a probe including a temperature sensor and a heat flux sensor which are controlled to make measurements at specified time intervals. The measured values are used in solving the equation of heat conduction to estimate the temperature of an internal body position. A heater may be included to preheat a body part in order to reduce the time required for measurement. The probe may use two temperature sensors to measure temperatures at two body surface positions through insulating members which are different in thermal conductivity.

    摘要: In order to provide a photothyristor having high breakdown voltage and less-varying light sensitivity by improving the sensitivity and the breakdown voltage of the device while maintaining the device small, the device includes a silicon substrate, a transistor portion including an anode region, a gate region and a cathode region and placed on a first main surface of the silicon substrate, a light-receiving portion for receiving light from the outside, and an electrode for establishing an ohmic contact between the anode region and the cathode region. The light receiving portion includes an oxygen-doped polysilicon film overlaid on the silicon substrate through a transparent insulating film and is disposed to surround the transistor portion. The electrode is placed above the transistor portion and has a double-structure consisting of a center portion and an outer portion surrounding the center portion, and the center portion and the outer portion are electrically connected.

The method and arrangements automatically display error information associated with a user input field through the use of non-modal display mechanisms within a graphical user interface. The methods and arrangements may also stop the display of the error information after a defined period of time has elapsed. A tip balloon is one type of a non-modal display mechanism that does require the user to respond and does not interfere graphically and/or operationally with the ongoing graphical user interface supported process.

    摘要: The present invention provides in a line thermal printer for producing different colors in a print medium according to a level of heat energy applied to the print medium: storage buffers B1 to B4 having a plurality of areas for storing a line of print pixel data according to the number of plural heating elements for forming print pixels; a control circuit for identifying whether the printer is set to a monochrome mode or a multicolor mode; a CPU 21 for storing to the storage buffers B1 to B4 the next line of print pixel data to be printed and one or a plurality of lines of print pixel data printed immediately before (when the printer is set to the monochrome mode), and storing to the storage buffers B1 to B4 at least a next line of print pixel data of each color to be printed when the printer is set to the multicolor mode; and a drive data generator 22, 23 for outputting data determining the drive time of each drive circuit of the heating elements based on data stored in the storage buffers. Thus the present invention can provide a line thermal printer capable of switching between monochrome and multicolor printers, and accomplishing high quality monochrome printing with consideration given to a printing history, and also printing in multiple colors.

    摘要: An operating system shell provides a graphical user interface having a windowing environment with a desktop. The shell synthesizes a hypertext page for display as the desktop in the graphical user interface. The hypertext page has an embedded software object which provides graphical icon-oriented and menu-driven user interface elements for activating operating system services in the displayed hypertext page. The shell also provides windowed hypertext pages for managing file system folders. The shell synthesizes the hypertext pages from templates which can be edited to incorporate a variety of multi-media enhancements with the user interface elements in the graphical user interface. Templates can be associated with specific folders in the file system to provide folder specific hypertext pages integrated with user interface elements for managing the folder.

    摘要: An operating system provides extensions through which application developers may extend the capabilities of a shell of the operating system. For example, application developers may add menu items to context menus for objects that are visible within an integrated system name space. In addition, developers may add property sheet pages for such objects. Application developers also have the option of providing per-instance icons for each instance of an object. Application developers may provide data object extension handlers for customizing data sources on a per-object class basis and may provide drop target extension handlers on a per-object class basis to customize drop target behavior. Developers may additionally provide copy-hook handlers to regulate file system operations on objects. Developers may also extend the functionality provided by the shell of the operating system by adding their own custom name spaces to the integrated system name space. The mechanism provided by the operating system to add such a name space is polymorphic and transparent to users.
