Abstract:
A customer premises gateway includes a connection manager, a registration manager and data storage. The registration manager registers the user devices connected to the gateway at the customer premises and stores information for the registered user devices, including identities for the user devices, at the gateway. The connection manager is operable to provide Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) services and non-IMS services via a broadband network to the user devices connected to the gateway. The connection manager is also operable to provide the IMS services and non-IMS services to the registered devices based on the information stored for the registered user devices.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a novel synthetic fuel as alternative to diesel, wherein said synthetic fuel comprises branched esters and wherein the fuel having improved fuel properties such as zero aromatic, zero olefin, zero sulphur, low pour, high cetane diesel fuel with improved lubricity and oxidative stability. Further, the present invention provides a method of preparation of said esters.
Abstract:
Generating a digital waveform for a Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) voice using a set of machine-code instructions that is specialized for the generation of digital waveforms for MIDI voices. For example, a processor may execute a software program that generates a digital waveform for a MIDI voice. The instructions of the software program may be machine code instructions from an instruction set that is specialized for the generation of digital waveforms for MIDI voices.
Abstract:
Optical waveguides interconnect optical information processing devices, or connect such devices with other optical communication links such as glass optical fibers. Fluoropolymers consisting of alternating perfluorocyclobutane and aryl ether linkages possess suitable properties for optical waveguides and other devices due to tunability in optical properties of the copolymers. Perfluorocyclobutane (PFCB) copolymer may be employed in solutions that exhibit a high solids content. Such solutions show useful physical properties for optical waveguide devices since the solutions are capable of achieving single step film thicknesses, when applied to a substrate, of greater than about 0.6 microns, and sometimes may achieve a thickness of 10 microns or more.
Abstract:
A method for emulating a physical connection using a wireless connection includes establishing a communication connection with a host controller according to a first communication protocol and establishing a wireless connection with a wireless device coupled to a peripheral. The method further includes receiving a wireless signal comprising registration information for the peripheral formatted according to a second communication protocol and communicating the registration information to the host controller using the communication connection. The communication of the registration information to the host controller allows the host controller to recognize the peripheral.
Abstract:
A disk drive includes a data storage disk attached to a spindle which is rotatably mounted to a housing. A support shaft is also mounted to the housing parallel to the spindle, and includes an arm supported thereon parallel to the disk. A rib extends along the housing between the spindle and the support shaft for synchronizing fundamental resonant vibration thereof due to a shock load to couple in phase vibratory motion thereof. The support shaft may pivot and carry a suspension arm and data access head, or the shaft may be stationary and carry a load-unload ramp for parking the suspension arm, or both types of shafts may be used in the housing with corresponding ribs extending to the common spindle.
Abstract:
A technique for preventing damage to ball bearings in a small form factor device where the drive motor has at least one crash stop ring disposed about the shaft and inside the rotor of the motor. The crash stop ring is dimensioned to permit only a small amount of movement of the rotor relative to the shaft. The permitted movement must be less than the minimum movement which would cause damage to the elements of the ball bearing. In an alternative embodiment, a rotor includes a flange extending in the radial direction from the rotor. A piezoelectric ring is rigidly mounted on both sides of the flange to engage one of the planar surfaces of the flange when the piezoelectric ring is in the relaxed state. With two such crash stop rings disposed so that the rings can engage both planar surfaces of the flange, the rotor is effectively clamped between the two piezoelectric crash stop rings whenever the piezoelectric crash stop ting is disconnected from the power source used to contract the piezoelectric material in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a water shower comprising: a shower head connected to a water supply unit and comprising a plurality of nozzles to discharge water; at least one sensor configured to sense an object in a specific zone; and a controller operatively coupled with the at least one sensor to operate discharge of water through each nozzle of the plurality of nozzles, wherein a one or more nozzles of the plurality of nozzles are opened (and closed) individually by respective actuators, based on detection of the object by sensor, in direction of water flow through one or more nozzles. The saving of water is achieved by individually opening each nozzle of shower head such that water is discharged only through those nozzles in direction of which, an object is detected and closed when the object is not in the direction.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of Linaclotide by oxidizing linear Linaclotide of formula (II) using combination of air and oxidizing agent followed by purification using RP-HPLC.
Abstract:
Systems and devices for monitoring, detecting, and removing fluid build-up found at various regions along a tracheal tube of an intubated patient. The fluid management system includes pressure and flow sensors for detecting whether there is fluid at the various regions along the tracheal tube, and a means for drawing out the fluid into collection jars. The system also includes lavage features that is able to rinse different the various regions along a tracheal tube. Also disclosed are respiration insertion devices that either couple to existing tracheal tubes or incorporate tracheal tubing, where the respiration insertion body has channels and ports that contact various regions along the tracheal tube. The combination of the fluid management system and the respiration insertion devices effectively monitor and remove fluid at various locations along a tracheal tube of an intubated patient.
