    Abstract: In order to support integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network functionality, such as topology formation/adaptation, and access and backhaul link management, capability signaling can be configured and exchanged between the network, parent IAB nodes, and child IAB nodes. This can include messages related to IAB-node distributed unit (DU) function capabilities, IAB-node mobile termination (MT) function capabilities, joint IAB-node DU/MT capabilities, and internal IAB node and network capability management and coordination functions. Additionally, the aforementioned system can comprise an IAB capability manager function to coordinate capability messages between the MT and DU functions.

    Abstract: An example method may include a processing system of a channel sounding receiver having a processor receiving from a base station, at a location, a channel sounding waveform via a plurality of carriers, sampling the channel sounding waveform via the plurality of carriers to generate a plurality of per-carrier time domain sample sets, and processing the plurality of per-carrier time domain sample sets via a plurality of discrete Fourier transform modules to provide a plurality of per-carrier frequency domain sample sets. The method may further include the processing system aligning the plurality of per-carrier frequency domain sample sets in gain and phase to provide a combined frequency domain sample set and measuring a channel property at the location based upon the combined frequency domain sample set.

    Abstract: In a 5G network, a pre-emptive scheduling request (SR) and a pre-emptive buffer status report (BSR) can be used to reduce the latency of data transmissions on the upstream of a multi-hop integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network from the user equipment UE to the IAB-donor node. A centralized unit (CU) can uniformly ensure that the pre-emptive SR/BSR feature is turned on or off across the entire IAB network regardless of which vendor provides the IAB nodes. Additionally, a message can be sent from a gNodeB to the CU to the IAB node to indicate whether the pre-emptive SR/BSR triggering feature is turned on or off.

    Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for efficient configuration of demodulation reference signals in beamformed wireless communications systems. In an embodiment, the transmitter can signal the location of demodulation reference signals (DMRS) by including an indicator bit in downlink control information indicating which DMRS scheme is used in the transmission. A first DMRS scheme can let the user equipment (UE) device know that the DMRS position for the PDSCH carrying the RMSI is as signaled on the master information block (MIB)—referred to as PDSCH Mapping Type A. A second DMRS scheme can let the UE device know that the DMRS position for the PDSCH carrying the RMSI is the first orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol of said PDSCH allocation—referred to as PDSCH mapping type B).

    Abstract: Facilitating measurements and radio link monitoring in a wireless communications system is provided herein. A method can comprise determining, by a network device of a communications network and comprising a processor, a first resource configuration related to first measurement resources of a first radio link between a mobile device and a first distributed unit of distributed units of the communications network. The method can also comprise determining, by the network device, a second resource configuration related to a second measurement resources of a second radio link between the mobile device and a second distributed unit of the distributed units. Further, the method can comprise facilitating, by the network device, a transmission of a report that comprises the first resource configuration and the second resource configuration.

    Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards overcoming a radio link interruption event, for example caused in the mmWave spectrum by a physical blockage between user equipment and a communications network distributed unit. Described is executing an inter-distributed unit beam switch in response to a radio link interruption trigger when no beams are available to support the user equipment from the distributed unit currently serving the user equipment. The inter-distributed unit beam switch may be performed by notifying a flow control process of the radio link interruption, which can switch to a different distributed unit such as selected by beam quality measurements.
