Abstract: A prosthetic implant delivery assembly can include a prosthetic implant and an elongate catheter. The prosthetic implant can include an expandable stent portion having a longitudinal axis extending from a first end portion of the stent to a second end portion of the stent. The catheter can include a longitudinal axis extending from a proximal end portion of the catheter to a distal end portion of the catheter and a plurality of arms extending axially from the distal end of the catheter. The first end portion of the stent can be releasably and pivotably coupled to at least one the arms of the catheter such that the stent can pivot about the at least one of the arms so that the longitudinal axis of the stent is tilted relative to the longitudinal axis of the catheter.

Abstract: In a particular embodiment, the present disclosure provides a delivery apparatus for delivering a medical device. The delivery apparatus includes an elongated component with an engagement portion and a disengagement portion. Rotating the elongated component in a first rotational direction moves the travelling component along the engagement portion in a first axial direction. When the travelling component is located within the disengagement portion, continued rotation of the elongated component in the first rotational direction does not cause further movement of the travelling component in the first axial direction. A biasing member is located proximate the disengagement portion and urges the travelling component to reengage the engagement potion. The delivery apparatus can reduce or prevent damage to the delivery apparatus, or a patient with whom the delivery apparatus is used, by reducing or eliminating torque transfer from the travelling component to an end of the elongated component.

Abstract: A method for retrieving a previously inserted prosthetic valve is disclosed. In one example, a loader assembly is inserted through a hub of a delivery sheath device. The delivery sheath device includes an expandable sheath that extends into a blood vessel of a patient. The loader assembly is advanced in a distal direction until a distal section of the loader assembly extends into the expandable sheath which is attached to a distal end of the hub. The distal section has a larger inner diameter than a middle tube section of the loader assembly. A delivery catheter is retracted to move a prosthetic valve attached thereto in a proximal direction until the prosthetic valve is received within the distal section. The loader assembly and the delivery catheter are removed from a proximal end of the hub while the prosthetic valve is retained within the distal section.

Abstract: A retrieval device for retrieving a previously implanted device from a native valve of a patient's heart includes one or more retrieval components. The retrieval components include one or more of a device securing member, a device actuation member, and a clasp capturing member. The securing member is configured to attach the retrieval device to the previously implanted device. The actuation member engages the previously implanted device to move the previously implanted device from a closed configuration to an open configuration. The clasp capturing member is configured to attach to a clasp of the previously implanted device.

Abstract: A steerable catheter includes a shaft and a pull wire. The shaft includes a proximal portion and a distal portion. The shaft includes an inner layer that defines an inner lumen of the shaft. The shaft comprises an outer layer that defines an outer diameter of the shaft. The shaft comprises a pull-wire lumen between the inner layer and the outer layer. The pull wire extends through the pull-wire lumen. The pull wire has a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. The distal end portion of the pull wire is fixed to the distal portion of the shaft. The proximal end portion of the pull wire extends radially outward of the outer layer. Increasing tension in the pull wire curves the distal portion of the shaft.
