Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for enabling access control in a connected mode, idle mode, and an inactive state. An exemplary method generally includes receiving access control information associated with one or more services used by the UE for communicating with the wireless communications network, receiving a request to transmit traffic using the one or more services, checking a type of the traffic against the access control information, and scheduling the traffic for transmission if the type of the traffic satisfies one or more criteria in the access control information based on the checking.

A Base Station (BS) determines an operational schedule for the BS including at least one ON period and at least one OFF period, wherein the BS provides a reduced level of service during the at least one OFF period relative to the at least one ON period. The BS transmits the determined operational schedule. A User Equipment (UE) receives the BS's operational schedule and determines, based on the BS's operational schedule and its own operational schedule also including ON and OFF periods, whether to perform at least one service associated with the BS.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify that a radio resource control connection is to be established for evolved packet system fallback or inter radio access technology fallback from New Radio for a voice call. The UE may determine that an establishment cause received from a network access stratum (NAS) layer does not indicate high priority access. The UE may override the establishment cause such that the establishment cause indicates a mobile originated (MO) voice call based at least in part on determining that the establishment cause received from the NAS layer does not indicate high priority access. The UE may perform an access barring check of an MO voice call based at least in part on overriding the establishment cause such that the establishment cause indicates an MO voice call. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications and capability signaling for enhanced handover processes are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a source base station, a band combination indicator to indicate at least one band combination supported by the UE. The source base station may transmit a source base station configuration and at least one band combination supported by the UE to a target base station for use during a handover procedure. The target base station may then transmit to the source base station, a target base station configuration to use in the handover procedure. The source base station may transmit to the UE, both base station configurations to be applied during the handover procedure which may include a number of band combinations. The UE may communicate during handover execution with both base stations using at least one band combination indicated in the received base station configurations.

Abstract: Various designs for optimization of carrier aggregation (CA) capability signaling are discussed. A user equipment (UE) configured for CA determines to signal supported CA combinations that include a band, the band being one of a first band and a second band. The first band is a superset of the second band. The UE signals the supported CA combinations that include the band to the network. A base station receives a signal indicating the CA combinations supported by the UE that include the band. The base station determines CA combinations that include the first band and CA combinations that include the second band based on the CA combinations received from the UE.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for multiple radio access technology (RAT) carrier aggregation (CA), such as Long Term Evolution (LTE)-New Radio (NR) CA. The method, in one example, comprises generating a first resource coordination information (RCI) comprising one or more resource coordination bitmaps indicating one or more shortened transmission time intervals (sTTIs) of a TTI assigned to the first RAT for communication, wherein the TTI comprises a plurality of sTTIs. The method further comprises transmitting a message including the first RCI to a second base station that uses a second RAT. The method further comprises receiving an acknowledgement of the message from the second base station, the acknowledgment including a second RCI comprising one or more modified resource coordination bitmaps indicating the one or more sTTIs assigned to the first RAT for communication and one or more additional sTTIs of the TTI assigned to the second RAT.

Abstract: In a wireless communication system, user equipment (UE) has autonomy provided by one or more set of rules to handle processing during a measurement gap. UE can ignore or use only a portion of the whole measurement gap if not needed. Thereby, an urgent need for remaining tuned to source carrier frequency can be supported, such as utilizing Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure. UE can also choose to tune to a target carrier frequency supporting timely handovers. Depending on the type of processing required (download shared channel (DL-SCH, UL-SCH, TTI bundling, RACH or SR), the UE may store requests and process the measurements during the gap or ignore the gap measurement as if there were no gaps.
