Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, control signaling indicating a configuration for use by the UE to select one or more of a plurality of resource sets for a bandwidth part (BWP) for the UE, where each of the resource sets comprise reference signal resources that correspond to one or more antenna ports of the UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, an activation message instructing the UE to activate at least one resource set of the plurality of resource sets for reference signal transmission using the BWP. The UE may transmit a reference signal over the activated resource set using the BWP and at least one antenna port of the one or more antenna ports based at least in part on the activation message, the antenna port corresponding to the activated resource set.

Generally, the described techniques provide for a device such as a user equipment (UE), a base station, or both, to perform a channel noise and interference estimation based on a set of null resources in a data channel. The device may identify a first configuration for a set of demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) in a first set of time periods of a data channel and a second configuration for a set of null resources in a second set of time periods of the data channel. The second set of time periods may be nonoverlapping with the first set of time periods. The device may perform a channel estimation procedure on the data channel based on the null resources and the DMRS resources. The device may process data received via resources of the data channel based on the channel estimation procedure.

Abstract: A UE may estimate a CLI channel state based on a ZP-SRS from a second UE. A network node may transmit to the UE, and the UE may receive from the network node, a CSI-RS. The UE may estimate a downlink channel state based on the CSI-RS from the network node. The UE may estimate one or more eCSF parameters based on the CLI channel state, the downlink channel state, two or more interference hypotheses, and at least one of a CPU specification, a timing specification, or a UE capability indication. The UE may transmit to the network node, and the network node may receive from the UE, an eCSF report based on the one or more eCSF parameters.

In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a UE capability message indicating support for at least a first demodulation mode or a second demodulation mode. The first demodulation mode may correspond to a single demodulation procedure associated with a set of antenna ports at the UE, and the second demodulation mode may correspond to multiple demodulation procedures, each procedure associated with a respective subset of antenna ports at the UE. In some cases, the UE may flexibly switch between demodulation modes. The UE may receive, from the base station, one or more downlink signals via one or more downlink beams based on the indication of the first demodulation mode or the second demodulation mode. The UE may demodulate the one or more downlink signals based on the indicated (e.g., an active) demodulation mode.

Abstract: During a positioning session in which multiple location reports are provided, a user equipment (UE) that has little or no movement may provide an indication to an entity in the wireless network that there is no update for one or more location measurements. The UE may provide the indication to a serving base station in a Physical layer waveform. The base station may bypass the location server and provide an indication to an external client that the UE position has not changed. The UE may provide the indication to a location server in a location information report or by not sending a location information report by an expiration time. The indication of no update may be provided by a bit that indicates no location measurements are updated or that a particular location measurement is not updated.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a base station may identify a null space matrix that lies within a null space of an effective channel matrix for communications between the base station and a user equipment (UE). An indication of the null space matrix may be provided to the UE, and the null space matrix used to determine modifications to a precoding matrix. The base station and UE may determine a redistribution matrix that provides a reduced variance of transmission powers for a number of transmission channels, where a product of the null space matrix and the redistribution matrix may be computed and added to the precoding matrix to generate a modified precoding matrix. The modified precoding matrix may be used to generate the communications from the base station and UE with reduced power variance across channels.
