Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for supporting multiple semi-persistent resource allocations per serving cell. Embodiments include determining an association between one or more semi-persistent resource allocations and one or more identifiers. Embodiments include receiving signaling indicating activation or deactivation of at least one of the one or more semi-persistent resource allocations. Embodiments include determining an identifier of the at least one of the one or more semi-persistent resource allocations based on the association. Embodiments include sending an acknowledgment of the activation or deactivation. The acknowledgment may indicate the identifier of the at least one of the one or more semi-persistent resource allocations.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine that uplink data associated with a first quality of service flow is available for transmission to a base station. The UE may transmit a buffer status report to the base station. In some examples, the buffer status report may include a buffer status of the first quality of service flow. The UE may then receive an uplink grant based on transmitting the buffer status report, and may transmit the uplink data based on the uplink grant.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a configuration for multiple sets of prioritization parameters for a random access channel (RACH) procedure. A first set of prioritization parameters of the multiple sets of prioritization parameters may be associated with a higher priority network slice than the other sets of prioritization parameters (e.g., than the remaining sets of prioritization parameters). The UE may detect a trigger to perform a RACH procedure and select the first set of prioritization parameters for the RACH procedure based on the first set of prioritization parameters being associated with the higher priority network slice. The UE may perform the RACH procedure for the network slice according to the first set of prioritization parameters.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method includes receiving a network access control broadcast including access control criteria associated with connecting to a base station, determining an access category associated with the UE and an access identity of the UE associated with the access category, where the access category of the UE is specific to a reduced capability classification of the UE, and selectively performing a random access procedure to connect to the base station in accordance with the access control criteria, the access identity of the UE, and the access category associated with the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may autonomously initiate a handover procedure and select a target base station for the handover procedure. The UE may measure a signal from the source base station or the target base station, or both, and the UE may determine whether specific criteria at both base stations are within a pre-configured range. If the criteria at both base stations are within the pre-configured range, the UE may identify the target base station as a potential candidate for a handover. Accordingly, when the UE determines that radio conditions with the source base station are deteriorating (or fall below a threshold), the UE may initiate a handover to the target base station autonomously and without specific direction from the source base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A periodic reception mode may be activated for a user equipment (UE), such as by receiving an activation signal. The UE may be configured with or otherwise determine a periodic schedule associated with the periodic reception mode. The base station may combine multiple packets of data and may transmit the combined data packet in accordance with the periodic schedule. The UE may identify a duration for an active state and a duration for an idle state based on the periodic schedule. The UE may monitor a control channel in accordance with a duration for the active state associated with the periodic reception mode and may sleep in accordance with a duration for the idle state associated with the periodic reception mode.
