摘要： On a BD-ROM, PlayList information is recorded. The PlayList information includes MainPath information and SubPath information. The MainPath information specifies one of a plurality of AVClips as a MainClip, and defines a primary playback section on the MainClip. The SubPath information specifies, among the rest of the AVClips, one AVClip as a SubClip, and defines, on the SubClip, a secondary playback section to be synchronized with the primary playback section. The PlayList information includes an STN_table, which indicates SubClip and, from among a plurality of elementary streams multiplexed into the SubClip, elementary streams allowed to be played back. A total data size of AVClip per unit time is, for example, less than or equal to 48 Mbits when the AVClip includes a plurality of elementary streams allowed in the STN_table to be played back and does not include elementary streams which are not allowed in the STN_table to be played back.

摘要： A data recording medium by which, when encoding an externally input AV signal to an MPEG transport stream, the MPEG_TS can be quickly and efficiently converted to an MPEG program stream conforming to a DVD standard, is provided. An apparatus and method for recording to the data recording medium are also provided. A flag indicating that a first stream (such as an MPEG transport stream) is recorded in a constraint format enabling efficient conversion to a second stream (such as an MPEG program stream) is written to the management information (VOBI). By referencing this flag the recorder can easily determine if the recorded data was recorded in the specified constraint format without analyzing the data recorded to the data recording medium.

Each flag (is_angle_change_point) indicates whether a picture located at a corresponding entry point is an IDR picture for causing decoder refresh or Non-IDR I picture having a reference to a preceding picture.

It includes a judging unit which judges whether or not the coded picture to which the command is added is skipped at the time of trick-play, an adding unit which adds, in the case where the coded picture is judged to be skipped, repetition information indicating the same contents as the command to another coded picture that follows, in decoding order, the coded picture judged to be skipped and that is not skipped at the time of the trick-play, and a generating unit which generates the stream including the coded pictures, the command and the repetition information.

摘要： To provide a data structure contributing to managing a moving picture and a still picture efficiently and also provide an apparatus for performing recording and/or playback using such a data structure.A data processor includes: a drive unit for writing at least one still picture file on a level that is lower in hierarchy than a still picture folder of a storage medium; and a control section for generating file specifying information that specifies the storage location of each still picture file in the level and identification information for identifying each still picture file uniquely and for compiling a table that associates the file specifying information and the identification information with each other. The drive unit writes the table as a table file on the storage medium.
