摘要: A driving method for driving an ink ejection device operated in shear mode. In order to stably eject ink independently of driving frequency and to obtain an excellent print quality regardless of temperature variation, a first drive waveform is used under a critical temperature, e.g., 25.degree. C., and a second drive waveform is used above the critical temperature. The first drive waveform includes a first pulse signal A for ejecting ink from a nozzle and a second pulse signal B for braking the retraction of meniscus. The second pulse signal B is applied to an actuator before the application of the first pulse signal A. A time duration of the first pulse signal A is substantially equal to a predetermined time duration T defined by a time duration for the pressure wave to propagate one end to the other in a lengthwise direction of an ink channel. The second drive waveform includes a third pulse signal C for ejecting ink and a fourth pulse signal D for canceling out pressure fluctuations remaining in the ink after ejection. The time duration of the third pulse signal C is substantially equal to 3 T, and that of the fourth pulse signal D, 1.7 T.

摘要: An ink droplet ejecting device includes first and second grooves formed on a piezoelectric ceramic plate. The positions of the first and second grooves are offset by a half pitch and are formed by cutting. A cover plate closes openings of the grooves at one side of the piezoelectric ceramic plate. The first grooves become gradually shallower toward one end surface of the piezoelectric ceramic plate to form flat surface portions so that the second grooves do not intercommunicate with a manifold of the cover plate. Further, first metal electrodes are formed on inner surfaces of the first grooves, and second and third metal electrodes are simultaneously formed on inner surfaces of the second grooves on the whole surface of the piezoelectric ceramic plate where the second grooves are formed. The second metal electrodes on the inner surfaces of all the second grooves are electrically connected to one another by the third metal electrodes, and the metal electrodes are connected to an LSI chip through a flexible circuit pattern. A method of manufacturing an ink droplet ejecting device also is described.

摘要: A light amount control apparatus including an iris (2) for adjusting an amount of a light from a lens (1) and supplying the adjusted light amount to a CCD element (3), an iris driving unit (9) for driving the iris (2), an iris position detecting unit (10) for detecting an aperture value of the iris (2), a shutter driving unit (8), and a microcomputer (11) for controlling the iris (2) through the shutter driving unit (8) and the iris driving unit (9). The aperture value of the iris (2) can be prevented from being increased after the position of the iris (2) detected by the iris position detecting unit (10) is located a little ahead of the position at which a diffraction phenomenon occurs. After the iris position detecting unit is located a little ahead of the position at which the diffraction phenomenon occurs, the aperture value of the iris (2) can be prevented from being increased. Therefore, when the cameraman takes a picture of bright scene, for example, even if the iris is closed considerably, the diffraction phenomenon can be prevented and a satisfactory shooting can be effected.

摘要: A droplet jet device for use in an ink jet printer. The device has a bottom ceramics plate into which parallel grooves for storing ink are cut. A covering plate is either fixedly or slidably mounted over the grooved side of the ceramic plate to enclose the grooves. The sidewalls of the grooves have electrodes mounted thereon. One end of each groove is connected to an opening serving as an ink jet and the other end is connected to a ink source. The ink jets may be smaller grooves connecting the grooves to a print face of the bottom ceramics plate or may be ends of smaller grooves in the cover plate, one of the smaller grooves in the cover plate partially overlapping a corresponding groove in the ceramics base plate. When a current is applied to selected electrodes, the associated walls are deformed by a piezoelectric effect to compress the groove and eject an ink droplet from the ink jet.

摘要: A reverse rotation preventing device comprising: a fixed ring disposed in proximity to the external peripheral surface of a coil spring; an input coupling rotatably driven; an output coupling, to which is fixed an output shaft; and a reinforcing ring on the input side and a reinforcing ring on the output side, which cover the opposite ends of the coil spring, respectively. Engaging pawls are projected and bent in the axial direction at the both ends of the coil spring, respectively, and an engaging recession for engaging the engaging pawl is formed on each of both reinforcing rings. An engageable portion of the input coupling is engaged with an engageable pawl formed on the reinforcing ring on the input side to decrease the diameter of the coil spring, so that the output shaft is rotated. An engageable portion of the output coupling is engaged with an engageable pawl formed on the reinforcing ring on the output side to increase the diameter of the coil spring, so that the output shaft is prevented from rotating reversely.

摘要: An ink droplet ejection array is assembled by a piezoelectric transducer and a plate member. The piezoelectric transducer has a surface formed with a plurality of ribs which define a plurality of grooves. The plate member is attached to the surface of the piezoelectric transducer to cover the grooves and to thus define a plurality of ink channels. Ink contained in the ink channel is ejected when the volume of the ink channel is instantaneously reduced resulting from deformation of the associated ribs. The plate member is flexible to the deformation of the ribs so as not to restrain the deformation thereof.
