    摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed to mitigate stalling of streaming content due to rebuffering so that, e.g., the content consumer does not experience gaps in playback. In some embodiments, by buffering streaming content simultaneously at two bitrate levels—e.g., one of the lowest bitrates and a better-quality bitrate, within the bandwidth limitations—rebuffering-caused gaps in playback of a higher quality (HQ) stream may be filled with a lower quality (LQ) stream. For instance, client-side dual buffers may store n segments from the HQ stream during a given time and a multiple of n number of segments from the LQ stream, thus allowing for many of the LQ segments to be output if the HQ stream is rebuffering. If a segment of content is beginning to be played back as an LQ segment, there is no reason to buffer the same segment from the HQ stream. Moreover, after a segment of content is played back (or decoded) as either HQ or LQ, the corresponding HQ segment and/or LQ segment may be discarded from the dual buffer, e.g., to create buffer space for upcoming segments.

The content item is stored, and it is identified that a first segment of the plurality of segments is below a quality threshold. The first segment is processed to improve the quality of the first segment, and the content item is updated with the improved-quality first segment. At a second time, a request to access the content item is received, and the updated version of the content item is transmitted in response to the request.

    摘要: Systems and methods for overlaying virtual objects in a virtual environment based on user interest and user interactions are disclosed. The methods analyze a live view of a surface viewed through camera or a transparent lens and determine if the policies of the surface allow overlaying of virtual objects. The method fetches a virtual object and calculates a score based on user interest, user gaze, and user engagement. Virtual objects that meet the policies of the surface and a scoring criterion are overlayed on the surface in the virtual environment and enhanced based on a plurality of enhancement factors. Virtual objects are also overlayed in frames of a live broadcast based on their scores. Virtual objects displayed on a conference call interface, which may be meeting tools or icons associated with other conferencing functionality, are enhanced, or removed from the user interface based on their utilization.
