摘要: A customizable eyeglass system for use in any remote situation, and which is ideal for use in third-world countries or areas where electrical power and typical machinery for manufacturing eyeglasses is lacking. The system includes a frame with receivers for the temples to connect into and lock into place. A pair of customizable lenses is connected to the front of the frame. The lenses can be rotated to dial in the correct prescription for the patient and then locked into place as well. Thus the invention corrects near and distance vision while also correcting astigmatism. If adjustments need to be made, the patient can easily unlock the lenses, rotate them to a proper orientation for proper sight, and then lock the lenses into place again.

摘要: According to an exemplary embodiment, a loupe attachment for glasses may be provided. The loupe attachment may include a loupe and a number of optical devices such as mirrors or prisms. The loupe and the optical devices may be connected to eyeglasses and be positioned as desired. The loupe and the optical device may be connected to the glasses on number of locations and the relative position of the loupe and optical devices in the trajectory of light may be modified. According to a second exemplary embodiment, loupes may be rigidly connected to eyeglasses and a number of optical elements may be rigidly or rotatably connected to the front end of the loupe so as to reflect the field of view situated at an angle from the loupe viewing direction.

摘要: The present invention relates to optical instruments, in particular to magnification loupes, such as those worn by dentists and surgeons. The invention features magnification loupes that are equipped with a light source, an energy harvesting component and an energy storage component. The invention further relates to magnification loupes comprising a light source and a polymer battery as energy storage component. In addition, the invention is directed to magnification loupes comprising a first light source emitting a light beam and a sensor structured and configured to detect a reflection of this light beam. If such a reflection is detected, a second light source mounted on the magnification loupe is turned on or off. The invention further concerns a ring made from or coated with a light-reflecting material. The invention also relates to a battery charging station on which the batteries present in the magnification loupes can be recharged.

摘要: Apparatus, including a housing that is configured to be mounted in proximity to a human eye. The apparatus further includes optics that is retained by the housing and that is configured to focus optical radiation from a scene to an image viewable by the human eye. The apparatus also includes a tunable wavelength filter that is retained by the housing and that is configured to sequentially filter the optical radiation from the scene by a first wavelength and by a second wavelength different from the first wavelength.
