    摘要: A chemical stimulation system and a resistivity tool are disposed in a wellbore. Chemical stimulation operations are performed in the wellbore using the chemical stimulation system. Resistivity measurements are made with the resistivity tool before, during, and/or after the chemical stimulation operations. The resistivity measurements may be used to determine the porosity of a formation penetrated by the wellbore. A wormhole distribution and/or penetration in the formation is determined based on the resistivity measurements. Decisions regarding stimulation operations are made based on the determined wormhole distribution and/or penetration. The resistivity tool may be modular and have various arrays allowing various depths of investigation. The depths of penetration of the wormholes into the formation may be determined using the measurements from the multiple depths of investigation. The volume of the formation that is dissolved by the chemical stimulation operations may also be estimated.

    摘要: A portable locator and method for establishing the location of the cable line in a region which includes at least one generally straight electrically conductive cable line extending across the region from which cable line a locating signal includes a first arrangement for measuring a local flux intensity of the locating signal at a first above ground point within the region with the portable locator in a particular orientation at the first above ground point. A second arrangement uses the local flux intensity to establish a cable line angular orientation which limits the possible directions to the cable line relative to the particular orientation of the portable locator at the above ground point. A third arrangement uses the measured local flux intensity to establish an actual direction of the cable line that is selected from the possible directions based on certain characteristics of the locating signal.

    摘要: A method of sensing electromagnetic (EM) fields downhole may include filtering a voltage signal induced in a coil antenna by an EM field to produce a filtered signal, said filtering being performed by a resonance tuning filter, and applying the filtered signal to a piezoelectric element to modify a strain of an optical fiber. A sensing system may include a cable deployed downhole and coupled to an interface unit. The cable has an optical fiber coupled to an array of downhole sensors, each sensor having a coil antenna coupled by a resonance tuning filter to a piezoelectric element that modifies a strain in the optical fiber in accordance with a signal induced in the coil antenna by an electromagnetic field. The interface unit measures a backscattered light to monitor the signal from each sensor in the array.

    摘要: A method for characterizing fractures traversing a wellbore includes input to a computer multiaxial electromagnetic induction measurements corresponding to measurements made along two mutually orthogonal magnetic dipole moment axes perpendicular to an axis of the wellbore. The measurements correspond to at least one receiver spacing from a transmitter. The measurements represent induced voltage in a receiver having a same dipole moment direction as a dipole moment direction of a transmitter. A first derivative with respect to wellbore depth of the multiaxial electromagnetic induction measurements is calculated. At least one peak and an amplitude thereof of the first derivatives is calculated. The peak and the amplitude are used to determine a location and an aperture of at least one fracture traversing the wellbore.

    摘要: Metamaterials are used in well logging measurement tools to provide high directionality galvanic and induction tools having metamaterial focusing. Using metamaterial lenses, currents injected by galvanic tools can be focused in both axial and azimuthal directions. In addition, the focus plane can be shifted away from the tool body into a borehole formation, making measurements more sensitive to zones of interest and less sensitive to boreholes and invaded zones. Another metamaterial lens can bend injected currents toward the head of the tool, adding a look-ahead functionality.

    摘要: The present disclosure describes various antenna assemblies, each antenna coil being disposed about a tool body section in an antenna pathway. The antenna pathway passes through alternating grooves and lands. At least one of the grooves is disposed in the tool body section at a non-axial direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the tool body section. The antenna coil may be an axial coil or a tilted coil. Additional grooves oriented at axial direction may be disposed on the tool body section. Various methods include acquiring a plurality of data pairs using one or more antenna coils, each data pair comprising an induced signal at a receiver and a corresponding toolface angle using a tool including at least one antenna assembly, to generate a measurement including obtaining information about the directionality of the formation by calculating areas of an induced signal function approximated by the plurality of data pairs.
