Abstract:
Methods for determining a yaw angle and a pitch angle cycle for a wind turbine are disclosed. The methods comprise measuring during a measuring time a wind speed and a wind direction at a plurality of measuring heights between the maximum and minimum height at the wind site, determining an average wind speed and an average wind direction for each of the measuring heights during the measuring time, and determining a wind speed distribution and wind direction distribution between the maximum height and the minimum height, and determining one or more yaw-pitch combinations of yaw angle and pitch angle cycles as a function of an azimuth position of a rotor blade that lead to a desired angle of attack along the rotor swept area. The present disclosure further relates to methods of operating a wind turbine and suitable wind turbines.

Abstract:
When traversed by a flow of water, a hydraulic machine rotating part rotates around an axis of rotation. It includes runners which are distributed around the axis of rotation and each extend between a leading edge and a trailing edge. Each runner can include a first part which defines its leading edge and a second part which is attached to the first part and defines the trailing edge at least in part. The second part can be elastically deformable or displaceable in a reversible manner with respect to the first part, under the action of the flow of water, the second part defining, when the machine operates, the direction of the flow of water downstream of the runner.

Disclosed is a measuring device for measuring vibrations of a rotor of an electric machine having a guiding rod with a plate at one end of the guiding rod, the plate to abut at the rotor in operation, an actuator for inducing a shock to the rotor via the guiding rod and via the plate, and a monitor device for measuring the vibrations at the rotor caused by the induced shock.
Abstract:
Method for avoiding voltage instability in an electrical grid of an offshore wind park, the offshore wind park electrical grid being connected at a first end of a high voltage alternating current (HVAC) transmission and the main land electrical grid being connected at a second end of the HVAC transmission, each of the wind turbines being connected to the wind park electrical grid, the method comprises determining a main land phase angle at or near the second end of the HVAC transmission; measuring an individual wind turbine phase angle at one or more wind turbines; determining the difference between each of the measured individual wind turbine phase angles and the main land phase angle; and determining whether the difference between one of the measured individual wind turbine phase angle and the main land phase angle exceeds a threshold phase angle difference.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an arrangement for manufacturing a head winding cap of an electric machine, comprising a container for accommodating a moulding compound, the container is attachable to two winding arms adjacent to a clip connecting the winding arms and enclosing the winding arms, the container projecting perpendicular to the winding arms when attached, and the container creating a tight inclusion for the moulding compound, whereas the cap is filled with a dielectric compound.
Abstract:
Methods and arrangements for controlling the reactive power of a power generator from an initial reactive power state to a desired reactive power state are disclosed. The power generator belongs to a power farm coupled to an electrical grid. During a transition state, changes in voltage and reactive power demand are detected and control of reactive power is passed from the power farm to the power generator controller, then to a transition controller and finally back to the power farm. The power generator may be a wind turbine and the power farm a wind farm.
Abstract:
Wind turbine blade comprising at least one deformable trailing edge section having a plurality of actuators consecutively arranged substantially downstream from one another and a control system for controlling the actuators, wherein a downstream end of one actuator is connected by a substantially rigid link with an upstream end of the next actuator and the plurality of actuators comprises an upper actuator being mounted above a chord line of the blade section and a lower actuator being mounted below a chord line of the blade section. Wind turbines comprising such a blade and methods of controlling loads on a wind turbine blade are also described.
Abstract:
Method of operating a wind turbine rotational system having a plurality of drives and a central control system (CCS), each drive having a motor and an electronic converter. The CCS sends speed and torque setpoints to the electronic converters, and the electronic converters drive the motors in accordance with said setpoints. The method comprises designating one of the drives as master drive and the other drives as slave drives. The method also comprises the CCS determining a master speed setpoint and a master torque setpoint, and sending said setpoints to the master drive. The method further comprises the CCS obtaining the real torque and speed of the motor of the master drive and sending a slave speed setpoint and a slave torque setpoint to each slave drive, said slave speed setpoint based on the master speed setpoint and said slave torque setpoint equal to the obtained real torque of the master drive.
