摘要: A wind turbine has a Lidar device to sense wind conditions upstream of the wind turbine. Signals from the wind turbine are processed to detect an extreme change in wind direction. The detection is performed by differentiating the rate of change of wind direction and filtering for a period of time. On detection of extreme change the system controller takes the necessary evasive action which may include shutting down the turbine, commencing an immediate yawing action, and de-rating the turbine until the yawing action is complete.

摘要: The invention relates to a wind turbine comprising a rotor hub (7) rotating about a rotor axis (8), rotor blades (9, 10, 11) extending radially with respect to the rotor axis (8) at the same angular spacing relative to one another, and a remote wind gauge (19) that is fastened externally on the surface of the hub (7) in a mounting (20) and oriented such that wind characteristics at a distance in front of the hub (7) can be ascertained or measured, wherein the remote wind gauge (19) is arranged between two neighbouring rotor blades (9, 10) and in the radial direction of the rotor axis (8) and the mounting (20) is fastened to a respective blade bearing flange (21, 22) in the region of the connection of the rotor hub (7) to the rotor blades (9, 10), such that the remote wind gauge (19) can be retrofitted to the wind turbine (1).

摘要: A method of operating a wind turbine is provided. The wind turbine includes a rotor that is rotatably coupled to a generator that is positioned within a nacelle. The rotor includes one or more rotor blades that are coupled to a hub. The method includes transmitting, from a first sensor to a control system, at least a first monitoring signal indicative of a first wind condition at a first distance from the wind turbine. A second sensor transmits at least a second monitoring signal that is indicative of a second wind condition at a second distance from the wind turbine that is longer than the first distance to the control system. The control system calculates a wind turbine operating command based at least in part on the first monitoring signal and the second monitoring signal. One or more wind turbine components are operated based on the calculated wind turbine operating command.

摘要: A wind park comprises a plurality of wind turbines with a least one wind turbine downstream of at least one upstream turbine. The downstream turbine includes a Lidar or other device for sensing characteristics of the wake produced by the upstream turbine and for providing an output to a turbine or wind park controller indicative of the measured wake. The controller controls parameters of the downstream turbine an possibly adjacent turbines in accordance with the wake indicative signals. The control may include overrating the downstream turbine if the wake indicative signal indicates that there is a low risk of fatigue damage to components of the downstream turbine.

摘要: A method and an arrangement are provided to determine the speed of the wind, which acts on a wind-blade of a wind-turbine. An optical-signal with a known frequency is sent from an optical-transmit-unit to a joint measurement volume. The optical-signal is scattered and reflected by atmospheric particles of the joint measurement volume. The optical signal is shifted in its frequency due to the Doppler-principle, too. The frequency-shifted optical signal is received by a receive-unit. The frequency-shifted optical signal is compared with the sent optical-signal to determine the wind-speed based on the shifted frequency, which is caused by the atmospheric particles.
