Abstract:
The present invention is directed to compositions and methods useful for the amplification of nucleic acid molecules by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Specifically, the invention provides compositions and methods for the amplification of nucleic acid molecules in a simplified one- or two-step RT-PCR procedure using combinations of reverse transcriptase and thermostable DNA polymerase enzymes in conjunction with sulfur-containing molecules or acetate-containing molecules (or combinations of such sulfur-containing molecules and acetate-containing molecules), and optionally bovine serum albumin. The invention thus facilitates the rapid and efficient amplification of nucleic acid molecules and the detection and quantitation of RNA molecules. The invention also is useful in the rapid production and amplification of cDNAs which may be used for a variety of industrial, medical and forensic purposes.
Abstract:
The present invention provides polypeptides having a nucleotide polymerase activity and method of enhancing polymerase activity. The polypeptides of the present invention may possess both a DNA-dependent DNA polymerase activity and an RNA-dependent DNA polymerase activity, i.e., a reverse transcriptase activity. The polypeptides of the present invention may be used in any application including, but not limited to, DNA sequencing reactions, amplification reactions, cDNA synthesis reactions, and combined cDNA synthesis and amplification reactions, e.g., RT-PCR.

The present invention relates to a bone-regenerating scaffold, and more particularly, to a bone-regenerating scaffold which is made of a mixture of fibrin glue and bone powder, the interior of which has a plurality of pores for accommodating bone growth factors, and which has a predetermined concrete shape. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the scaffold
Abstract:
An information reproducing apparatus which reproduces information recorded on a medium includes an asymmetry correction circuit configured to correct an asymmetry of a signal read from a medium. The apparatus also includes a first high pass filter installed before the asymmetry correction circuit and configured to remove noise in the signal by a first cut-off frequency. The apparatus also includes a second high pass filter installed after the asymmetry correction circuit and configured to remove the noise in the signal by a second cut-off frequency, wherein the second cut-off frequency is higher than the first cut-off frequency.
Abstract:
A data modulation method and a data error correction method are provided. The data modulation method includes generating a channel sequence for an input sequence, determining whether or not the channel sequence violates a Run Length Limit (RLL) constraint, and performing, when the channel sequence violates the RLL constraint, bit flip at a position prior to a position at which the RLL constraint is violated among positions of bits included in the channel sequence. The data error correction method includes detecting an error bit of received data using a parity check matrix, determining whether or not the error bit is an error caused by bit flip, and correcting the error bit when the error bit is an error caused by bit flip for applying an RLL constraint.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compositions preferably for use in nucleic acid synthesis that include one or more anti-reverse transcriptase (RT) antibodies and/or one or more anti-DNA polymerase (DNAP) antibodies and/or single strand binding proteins (SSBs). Some of the disclosed compositions include one or more anti-DNAP antibodies and/or one or more anti-RT antibodies and one or more SSBs. Other disclosed compositions include two or more SSBs. The disclosed nucleic acid synthesis compositions also can include one or more DNAPs, one or more RTs, one or more nucleotides, one or more primers, and/or one or more templates. Also disclosed are methods for using such compositions in nucleic acid synthesis, amplification and sequencing, where various combinations of anti-RT antibodies, anti-DNAP antibodies and/or SSBs can improve the yield and/or homogeneity of primer extension products.
