    Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of a self healing andon system. One embodiment of the present disclosure includes a system comprising at least one server. The system further includes logic executed on the at least one server that retrieves a defect history associated with a vendor and at least one product from an inbound shipment from a memory. The at least one product is stocked in a materials handling facility, and the defect history is associated with a specified time period. The at least one server extracts at least one inventory defect from the defect history in a computer system and calculates an inventory defect rate. The at least one server imposes remedial measures if the inventory defect rate exceeds a specified threshold of the inventory defect rate.

    Abstract: A correlation-based rate adaptation scheme (CORA) is enabled for practical communication devices that provides for communication data rate adaptation in a complex and/or rapidly changing communication environment. Correlations may be determined between adjustable parameters of a communication scheme and one or more performance metrics and/or communication scheme operating regimes. In the context of the correlation-based rate adaptation scheme, adjustable parameters of the communication scheme may be considered as defining a multi-dimensional parameter space, and the determined correlations may be considered as correlation maps that may be used to guide parameter selection and adjustment. The use of correlation maps enables extraction of information from imperfect and/or incomplete measurements, and the information collected in the correlation maps may be used to tune corresponding communication scheme parameters to enhance communication performance.

    Abstract: Raman spectra of protein immunoblots or enzyme linked immunosorbant assay procedures are acquired with a scanning Raman spectrometer. The sensitivity of the measurement is increased by conjugating secondary antibodies used in the Western blot and ELISA methods to surface enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) labels. The resulting blot or well plate is analyzed with a Raman system that has forms a pixel map of the sample. More specifically, the Raman system generates an effectively line-shaped illumination pattern and scans the sample in the direction perpendicular to the line while the signal is accumulating on the detector. Each pixel is therefore a rectangle defined by the length of the illumination and the distance traveled by the sample within the duration of signal accumulation on the detector. The pixels are sequentially acquired to generate a map of the sample.
