Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for cancelling transmissions during handover operations. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) can cancel at least a portion of a first uplink transmission where the first uplink transmission overlaps with a second uplink transmission scheduled by a target cell in a dual active protocol stack (DAPS)-based handover (HO). In another aspect, a network can receive, from the UE, a capability indicating whether cancelling uplink transmission from a source cell in DAPS-based HO is supported, and the network can schedule an uplink transmission for the UE during the DAPS-based HO to the target cell based on the capability.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of an antenna port mapping from a network entity. The antenna port mapping may be between a tracking reference signal and a corresponding reference signal, the antenna port mapping indicating a mapping of a tracking reference signal port to a plurality of reference signal antenna ports associated with the corresponding reference signal. The UE may receive a tracking reference signal via the tracking reference signal port based on the antenna port mapping. The UE may perform a channel measurement procedure using the tracking reference signal based on the mapping.

A user equipment (UE) may determine that uplink communications are to be performed between the UE and a first cell group associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and between the UE and a second cell group associated with a second RAT. The UE may determine that the UE is configured for power sharing for the uplink communications with the first cell group associated with the first RAT and the second cell group associated with the second RAT. The UE may calculate, based on the power sharing and the uplink communications, a power reduction factor for the uplink communications between the UE and the second cell group. The UE may perform the uplink communications with the first cell group and selectively perform the uplink communications with the second cell group.

In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using multiple receivers and receive an indication from the base station to activate a second bandwidth part of a set of bandwidth parts configured for the UE. In response to the indication, the UE may switch from operating in a first bandwidth part to operating in the second bandwidth part and adjust a quantity of active receivers at the UE based on switching from operating in the first bandwidth part to operating in the second bandwidth part. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may adjust the quantity of active receivers at the UE based on monitoring for downlink grants from the base station.

Abstract: Techniques are discussed herein identify transmission strategies and to communicate those identified transmission strategies in a transparent communication environment. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may identify a new transmission strategy for a downlink channel different from a current transmission strategy for the down link channel. The UE may transmit a channel state information (CSI) message that includes an indication of the new transmission strategy identified by the UE. In some examples, a base station may identify the new transmission strategy for the downlink channel. The base station may transmit a codebook subset restriction (CSR) indicator that includes an indication of the new transmission strategy identified by the base station. In some examples, the UE may modify its feedback strategy based on the new transmission strategy.

Abstract: Various designs for optimization of carrier aggregation (CA) capability signaling are discussed. A user equipment (UE) configured for CA determines to signal supported CA combinations that include a band, the band being one of a first band and a second band. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may partially disable transmissions on a transmission port based on a temperature condition (e.g., chipset temperature or skin temperature exceeding threshold). In a further aspect, the UE may enable the partially disabled transmissions on the transmission port in response to cessation of the temperature condition. In a further aspect, the UE may transmit a capability indication to a base station that indicates that the UE is capable of supporting a transition from a multi-layer (rank-2) communication mode to a single-layer (rank-1) communication mode.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to techniques for adaptively updating one or more parameters, such as power hysteresis, for determining whether beam switching should be performed. A user equipment (UE) may assess a first beam quality of a first beam for communications with a network entity and a second beam quality of a second beam. The UE adjusts a value of power hysteresis based on one or more conditions, such as whether the UE is mobile and/or the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the first beam is less than a threshold. Based on the adjusted value of power hysteresis, the UE may switch from the first beam to the second beam if a difference between the second beam quality and the first beam quality is greater than the adjusted value of power hysteresis.
