Abstract:
Pressure actuator, provided with a carrier structure, shape memory material, integrated with and/or attached to the carrier structure, and at least one heating element in the vicinity of the shape memory material that is configured to at least locally vary the shape of the shape memory material that is in the vicinity of the heating element. In specific embodiments, the pressure actuator is provided with at least one heating element separate from the shape memory material, which at least one heating element may be configured to vary temperature within the shape memory material locally.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a hypertension descending device capable of curing a hypertension disease by stimulating a patient's Acupuncture point Renying (or referred to as “carotid sinus”) by repeated cold pressure vibration. The hypertension descending device is designed to allow common users to use it easily, and provides a good hypertension descent effect by stimulating the patient's carotid sinus (Acupuncture point Renying) portion while maintaining a uniform cooling temperature of the contact tip, which is in contact with the patient's carotid sinus (Acupuncture point Renying) portion.
Abstract:
A spa system includes a tub supported by a chassis, an enclosed space formed between the tub and the chassis, first and second vents through the chassis leading to the enclosed space, water heating and cooling devices coupled in series to a circulating system adapted to withdraw and return water relative to the tub, and a thermostat operatively coupled to the heating and cooling devices. The cooling device incorporates a fan operative for drawing air into the enclosed space through the first vent in response to activation of the cooling device, and a blower is operative for expelling air from the enclosed space through the second vent currently with the operation of the fan of the cooling device.
Abstract:
An apparatus treats patients suffering from vascular disease with infra-, audible- and ultrasound waves. The apparatus includes a treating head for emitting sound waves with frequencies ranging from 1 Hz to 100 kHz and feeding introducing the sound waves through a coupling medium into a body portion to be treated, an electronics connected to the treating head for energizing the treating head to emit the sound waves, and a control panel connected to the electronics to choose the electronic waveform of the energizing.
Abstract:
The invention provides for a backrest device having an upwardly facing convex form defined generally by upper convex surface, and which device is provided at remote ends of the undersurface thereof with feet for the floor-mounting of the device. Engagement formations are provided extending upwardly from the upper convex surface and, in a particular embodiment, each provides for a combination heating/cooling element which can be readily controlled so as to apply a healing and/or cooling effect to the musculature surrounding the human spine, the bony parts of which are readily located within a recess channel extending centrally in the longitudinal direction of the device and between respective rows of engagement formations.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a healthy care device comprising a casing having an inlet and an outlet on two opposite side thereof; a heater and a fan installed inside the casing; an air guiding sleeve having one end connected to the outlet of the casing and another end with contact area to a patient's skin, and an energy concentrating element installed on the air guiding sleeve. An exhaust opening is installed in the air guiding sleeve. The air induced by the fan is heated by the heater, and runs through the outlet to the air guiding sleeve to reach to the patient's skin surface. And the exhaust opening is applied to exhaust the hot air. With convective air, modulated temperature and adjustable air flow, the hot air gradually warms up patient's skin without burning the patient. The safety and the reliability are reached. For various applications, energy wave coating can be applied on energy concentrating element. The energy concentrating element, blown through by hot air, can generate infrared, magnetic energy, thermal energy, etc. The various kinds of energy can be focused to radiate the energy wave to enhance metabolism, to improve blood and various circulatory systems, and to balance immunity for beneficial therapeutic results. In addition, the temperature sensor and temperature control circuit ensure the temperature not to be overheating. Thus, it makes the application to be safe and reliable.
Abstract:
A massaging device with a variable surface for providing a good general massage that includes one user support surface (1), a structural support frame (2) and at least one dimensionally varying device (3). In one embodiment, the dimensionally varying device may be an airbag. At least one airbag is situated in between the user support surface and the structural support frame. The airbag utilizes a fluid that is either liquid or gaseous in nature to vary its dimensions. By the varying the dimensions of the airbag, the massage forces experienced by a user is indirectly varied. This embodiment can be used in a chair, bed or any other surface that is in contact with a user for the purposes of a massage. It may further include a pressure regulator for the fluid and force detection sensors so as to provide real-time feedback to the user as the massage progresses.
Abstract:
A bathtub having a water pump and heater for heating and circulating water from the bathtub to at least one mixing chamber, an air blower and heater for delivering heated ambient air to the mixing chamber, and a plurality of orifices for delivering an air-water mixture from the mixing chamber to the bathtub. A wall of the mixing space may be associated with a wall of the bathtub, and the orifices may be in the wall providing direct fluid communication between the mixing space and the tub. The invention provides improved thermal stability and eliminates evaporative cooling effects in air-injected tubs.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a bath apparatus for bathing a body part. The bath apparatus includes a chamber for containing fluid, and a lid mounted to the bath chamber. A showerhead is mounted to an underside of the lid and is oriented towards the bath chamber. A fluid pump draws fluid from the bath chamber and pumps the fluid through the showerhead for providing a pressurized fluid massage effect upon the body part. The showerhead may be viewable from atop the lid for visual identification of a product feature and for a visual fluid flow effect in operation.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for cooling an electromechanical chest compression device. A blower or fan forces air through the device and a metal foil distributes heat. The temperature of the device and the patient is measured and the processor controls the operation of the device based on the measured temperature.
