Abstract:
A pressure control reservoir includes a valve ball and a shaft which is movable to move the valve ball to open or close a fluid path leading to a fluid reservoir chamber. The shaft has a tip with a slant surface which has a peripheral edge of a polygonal shape with even numbers of vertices and is inclined to the longitudinal center line of the shaft. Such a polygonal geometry increases an entire or inclined length of the slant surface, which results in an increased range where an angle which the slant surface makes with a plane extending perpendicular to an axial direction of the tip is permitted to be increased without causing the point of contact between the valve ball and the slant surface to be shifted close to the tip of the slant surface when the tip of the shaft moves the valve ball.
Abstract:
Each of a plurality of electric brake devices corresponds to one of a plurality of wheels and includes a motor. A brake ECU, which controls the electric brake devices, determines whether there is an overheated motor of which the temperature T is greater than or equal to a first set threshold value Tth1. Also, when there is only one overheated motor, the brake ECU reduces a current value Ix for the overheated motor at a more gradual gradient in the case where the temperature T of the overheated motor is low than in the case where the temperature is high.
Abstract:
A brake temperature detection device: acquires a kinetic-energy based temperature rise, which is an increase in an amount of brake heat that occurs when kinetic energy generated in a running vehicle is converted into thermal energy by braking; acquires a braking-energy based temperature rise, which is an increase in an amount of brake heat that is calculated from an amount of work done when a brake's friction material is pressed against a friction target material; determines state of slope of a road surface on which the vehicle is running; and detects a brake temperature in accordance with an increase in an amount of brake heat generated in braking. The brake temperature detection device selects, based on the state of slope, either the kinetic-energy based temperature rise or the braking-energy based temperature rise as the increase in the amount of brake heat generated in braking and achieves brake temperature detection.
Abstract:
A vehicle brake device includes a master cylinder having a master piston moved by servo pressure in a servo chamber and master pressure of a master chamber is changed by movement of the master piston. A mechanical servo pressure generating unit is connected to a high pressure source and the servo chamber, and generates a servo pressure within the servo chamber according to pilot pressure within a pilot chamber based on brake fluid pressure of the high pressure source. An electrical pilot pressure generating unit is connected to the pilot chamber and generates desired pilot pressure within the pilot chamber, and a master chamber-to-pilot chamber brake fluid line connects the master chamber with the pilot chamber so pilot pressure is generated by the pilot pressure generating unit during normal operation of a power supply system, and the master pressure is used as pilot pressure when the power supply system fails.
Abstract:
A sealing arrangement includes a first member having a non-circular hole, a second member having a non-circular and annular groove that extends continuously around an outer circumference of the second member, and a seal made of an elastic material and seated in the groove. An outer circumference of a body of the seal is in contact with a wall of the first member defining the non-circular hole, and an inner circumference of the body of the seal is in contact with a wall of the second member defining the groove. At least one protrusion protrudes from at least one portion of the body where a relatively low contact pressure is applied between the body and the groove and along a direction of insertion of the second member into the first member.

Provided is a disc rotor formed of graphite-containing cast iron and having high corrosion resistance. For a disc rotor formed of graphite-containing cast iron, after removal of graphite present adjacent a surface of the disc rotor through a graphite removing treatment, a nitride layer and an oxynitride layer are laminated one after another on the surface through a gas nitrocarburizing treatment.
Abstract:
A processing circuit has an input terminal to which an input signal generated by an input signal generator is inputted via an input line. An external capacitor is connected to the input line in parallel with the processing circuit. The processing circuit includes a pulse circuit, at least one switch, a controller, a detector and a determiner. The pulse circuit generates a pulsed voltage having at least one pulse. The least one switch is provided between the pulse circuit and the input line. The controller controls the at least one switch so as to apply the pulsed voltage to the input line via a resistor. The detector detects a change in a voltage of the input line caused by application of the pulsed voltage to the input line. The determiner determines whether the processing circuit is in a normal or abnormal condition based on the change detected by the detector.
Abstract:
An electric connecting structure between a substrate and an electric component includes a substrate mounted in a case, an electric component assembled to a member which the case is mounted, a bus bar fixed to the case and connected to an electric circuit on the substrate at its one end and a spring disposed in compressed state between the bus bar and an electrode formed on the electric component. The substrate is electrical lyconnected to the electric component through the bus bar and the spring and a held portion formed on the spring is held by a spring holding portion integrally formed on the bus bar.

Abstract:
A pressure control reservoir for a vehicle brake system is disposed in a hydraulic line extending from a master cylinder to a wheel cylinder through a pump. The pressure control reservoir includes a check valve which consists of a valve seat and a valve. The check valve is closed when an excessive pressure of brake fluid produced by the master cylinder. The valve is stationary. The valve seat is moved in response to an elevated level of the pressure of brake fluid into engagement with the valve, so that the check valve is closed. With these arrangements, the check valve is closed before a piston starts to move to change the volume of a reservoir chamber, thus permitting the volume of the brake fluid required to close the check valve to be decreased, which minimizes the uncomfortable feeling given to a driver of the vehicle when actuating the brakes.
