Abstract:
The various embodiments of the present invention relate to coupling clock signals between a plurality of data transceivers. According to one embodiment, a clock routing circuit having data transceivers comprises a clock bus interface and a first data transceiver coupled to the clock bus interface to receive a clock signal from the clock bus interface. A clock bus coupled to receive the clock signal enables the transfer of the clock signal to an adjacent data transceiver. According to other embodiments, various clock buses and interfaces enable routing clock signals between various circuits of the integrated circuit.
Abstract:
Automatic provisioning of an access point base station or femtocell. The method may include the femtocell transmitting first information (e.g., location information, signal measurement information, capability information, etc.) to a service provider (e.g., over an IP network). The femtocell may receive second information from the service provider, where the second information includes one or more operational parameters. The operational parameters may include hand-off parameters, admission policy parameters, PN or scrambling codes, power parameters, and/or other parameters. The femtocell may operate according to the received parameters to provide access for a plurality of access terminals in a local area.

Abstract:
A gaming system comprising at least one gaming machine providing a wagering game; readable and writable computer memory; a monitor in electronic communication with the at least one gaming machine and the computer memory; a user interface through which a player can input identity information; wherein the monitor receives data relating to game play on said at least one gaming machine and compares the received data to at least one benchmark, wherein if the received data indicates that the at least one benchmark has been exceeded, then the monitor records in the computer memory data indicating that the benchmark has been exceeded and associates this with the identity information, and wherein the gaming system makes a feature available to a player who has been recorded in the computer memory as having exceeded the benchmark.
Abstract:
A marketing system includes a plurality of automated transaction machines (74, 76, 78, 80, 82, 84, 86). The automated transaction machines operate to carry out financial transactions with associated host computers (90, 94, 100, 104). Marketing presentations are stored on and output from the transaction machines responsive to messages exchanged with a market message server (110) which is connected to the automated transaction machines through a network (108). The connection to the automated transaction machines, which provides delivery of the market presentation materials and which causes the output of presentations, is generally independent of the messages associated with authorizing financial transactions. Some described embodiments of the invention enable presenting marketing campaigns to users of the transaction machines. The marketing campaigns may include sequences of presentations that are output on a targeted basis to particular users.
Abstract:
An interface includes a blast plate having plate structure, the plate structure being formed to substantially conform to a certain portion of an exterior margin of a hull of a certain vehicle and being semi-permanently mounted to the hull by mounting to certain mounting devices present on the exterior margin of the hull and having mounting means for supportively mounting a standardized add-on device, the mounting means being designed to facilitate the add-on device being readily mountable on and demountable from the plate structure, the plate structure having structural characteristics for acting to protect the hull from effects of a blast directed at the hull. A modular assembly and a blast plate are further included.
Abstract:
Various high-strength microwave antenna assemblies are described herein. The microwave antenna has a radiating portion connected by a feedline to a power generating source, e.g., a generator. The antenna is a dipole antenna with the distal end of the radiating portion being tapered and terminating at a tip to allow for direct insertion into tissue. Antenna rigidity comes from placing distal and proximal radiating portions in a pre-stressed state, assembling them via threaded or overlapping joints, or fixedly attaching an inner conductor to the distal portion. The inner conductor is affixed to the distal portion by, e.g., welding, brazing, soldering, or by adhesives. A junction member made from a hard dielectric material, e.g., ceramic, can be placed between the two portions and can have uniform or non-uniform shapes to accommodate varying antenna designs. Electrical chokes may also be used to contain returning currents to the distal end of the antenna.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for reducing call setup latency for a wireless device in a cellular network where the wireless device receives, stores, and analyzes base station overhead information to reduce the need to perform initialization after a call session terminates.
Abstract:
A method of synchronizing measurement of a mobile station location with communications service includes performing communications service between the mobile station and a base station, transmitting a synchronization message from the mobile station to the base station to indicate that the mobile station will be unavailable for communications service during a selected time interval, measuring the mobile station location from the mobile station during the selected time interval, and resuming communications service between the mobile station and the base station.
Abstract:
A self-propelled personal watercraft is disclosed, wherein the personal watercraft includes a body including a hull and a deck substantially covering the hull, wherein the body includes a bow portion and a stern portion. The personal watercraft also includes a deck modification module removably attached to the deck, wherein the deck modification module is configured to be selectively removable to change a performance characteristic of the deck when the deck is submerged in water.
