    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to modifying a buffer status report (BSR) are provided. In one embodiment, a first wireless communication device determines a BSR based on at least a first data size and a predicted data size. The first wireless communication device transmits to a second wireless communication device, the BSR. The first wireless communication device receives from the second wireless communication device, a scheduling grant in response to the BSR. The first wireless communication device transmits to the second wireless communication device, a communication signal based on the scheduling grant.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for transitioning between short DRX and long DRX cycles based on service type to improve performance (e.g., reduce delay) while limiting power consumption. In one example, the UE switches to a long DRX cycle after a DRX Short Cycle Timer, or drxShortCycleTimer, expires. The UE may also switch to a long DRX if the UE receives long DRX MAC control element (CE) from a gNB. In another example, a gNB may configure a radio bearer from a set of radio bearers (data radio bearer (DRB) and/or signal radio bearer (SRB)), denoted by S, to trigger the UE to enter a short DRX cycle.

    Abstract: The present aspects relate to out-of-service searches in a wireless communication system. Specifically, the present aspects provide that while in an out-of-service state corresponding to a radio resource disconnection, a user equipment (UE) may determine that a first time duration following entry into the out-of-service state has elapsed. The UE may further obtain a geofence identifier representing a shape forming a geographic region including one or more boundaries based on determining that the first time duration has elapsed. The UE may further identify at least one location identifier based at least on the geofence identifier and determine at least one radio access technology (RAT) and one or more associated frequency bands based on the at least one location identifier. The UE may further search on the at least one RAT and one or more associated frequency bands for at least one network entity within the geographic region.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include a wireless communications device determining an inter-modulation distortion value between simultaneous communications on a first configuration of a first radio access network and a second configuration of a second radio access network, and dynamically switching between a non-standalone mode and a standalone mode of operation, based on the inter-modulation distortion value and a quality of service requirement for the standalone mode. The wireless communications device may also provide for time division multiplexing communications on a first RAT and a second RAT wherein only the first or second RAT is active during a period of time, and wherein the first RAT is an anchor for the second RAT.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may detect a collision of paging messages for a first subscription and a second subscription of the wireless device during a paging processing duration, the first receive chain including at least one antenna path. The wireless device may determine that, in a connected mode, it is configured to operate a second receive chain with one or more additional antenna paths, and may allocate, for a subsequent instance of the paging processing duration, the first subscription to one of the first receive chain or the second receive chain, and the second subscription to the other of the first receive chain or the second receive chain. The wireless device may monitor, during the subsequent instance of the paging processing duration, for a first paging message and a second paging message using the first and second receive chains.
