Abstract:
The shift register of this invention for sequentially transferring a digital signal in synchronization with a clock signal includes: a plurality of circuit blocks connected in series, each including a prescribed number of sequential latch circuits, each latch circuit outputting a signal corresponding to an input signal based on the clock signal; and a plurality of clock signal control circuits provided for the respective circuit blocks for controlling the supply of the clock signal to the latch circuits in the corresponding circuit blocks, wherein the control of the supply of the clock signal by each clock signal control circuit to the latch circuits in the corresponding circuit block is conducted in response to output signals from prescribed latch circuits in the circuit blocks preceding and subsequent to the corresponding circuit block.
Abstract:
A light-emitting device in which the increase in the intensity of the emitted light is linear with respect to the increase in current, thereby facilitating current-based control of the light intensity. In the device, this is achieved by providing a high-resistance region, or a furrow, between the electrode on the semiconductor surface and the portion of the device p-n junction that is exposed on the surface.
Abstract:
Stabilized fat-soluble vitamin compositions are disclosed which comprise fat-soluble vitamins and carotenoids as a stabilizer. They are stable to light and have a wide range of applications such as medicines, veterinary medicines, food additives, feed additives, nutrient supplements or the like.
Abstract:
Adherent foreign matters such as metal powders and sludges are removed from the surface of work pieces of metal, ceramics or the like in a treating process thereof. Work pieces where foreign matters adhere and a granules composed of a heat-resisting inorganic substance such as sand are put together into a container. The inside of the container is heated to raise the temperature to the melting point of the adherents or to a temperature near it, and an external force is applied; to the container so that the work pieces will move in the container, for example, to rotate the container.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method for the purification of glycidyl acrylate or glycidyl methacrylate. Specifically, the invention effects the purification by using a residual catalyst-inactivating additive and consequently produces highly purified glycidyl acrylate or glycidyl methacrylate containing substantially no epichlorohydrin and having a low chlorine content.
Abstract:
A plurality of ceramic green sheets each provided with electrodes are prepared and laminated to form a laminated unit. The laminated unit is then vacuum packed in a rubber covering or a synthetic resin sheet. The vacuum packed laminated unit is pressed by hydrostatic pressure within a high-pressure vessel, whereby the plurality of ceramic green sheets are pressed to form a single ceramic sheet, which is then baked to form a chip.
Abstract:
A multi-layer ceramic capacitor includes a rectangular ceramic body with terminal electrodes provided on its opposite ends. A set of electrode, including a plurality of electrode layers, extends from one terminal electrode into the ceramic body. A similar set of electrode extends from the other terminal electrode into the ceramic body. The plurality of electrode layers have their edges arranged in tiers and, therefore, the equipotential surfaces appearing around the tip end of electrode layers can be dispersed.
Abstract:
A cutting tool having a high wear resistance is disclosed. The cutting tool consists of a plate-shaped body comprising a sintered cermet layer and a sintered body layer containing high density boron nitride or diamond, said sintered cermet layer constituting the center portion of the plate-shaped body and being surrounded and adhered at the side surface or at the side surface and upper and lower surfaces with the sintered body layer.
Abstract:
A control circuit uses an adjustable resistance to generate a first control signal whose amplitude varies with the setting of the resistance and a second, step-like control signal whose level changes from a first to a second level at a predetermined setting of the resistance. The variable resistance is coupled to the collector of one of a pair of transistors whose emitters are commonly connected to a reference potential. The adjustable resistance's tap, which provides the first control signal, is connected to the base of the one transistor. A collector impedance and the variable resistance are coupled between the collector circuit of the one transistor and a voltage source. An output of the impedance is connected to the base of the other transistor, whose collector provides the second control signal. As the setting of the adjustable tap increases, the first control signal and the voltage at the base of the one transistor correspondingly increase from a first toward a second amplitude until the predetermined setting is reached. Then the relative conductivities of the transistors are reversed, and the first control signal reverts to its first amplitude, while the second control signal undergoes a step-like transition. Additional increases in the setting of the adjustable resistance again raise the first control signal from its first amplitude.
