Abstract:
This bill validator accumulates bills between a pair of spaced parallel stationary members forming an entrance of a bill accumlating box and a bill compressing plate provided in the bill accumulating box. A push member is disposed in the vicinity of the entrance of the accumulating box. This push member is actuated by a reciprocating mechanism to push a bill positioned at the entrance into the accumulating box and thereby add this bill to a stack of accumulated bills. Constant springs are provided in association with the bill compressing plate. These constant springs enclose a bill accumulating space in the accumulating box with their winding shafts being pivotably connected on the accumulating box and their taken out ends being fixedly secured to the bill compressing plate. The constant springs urge the bill compressing plate to the entrance of the accumulating box with a constant pressing force. Since the pressing force of the constant springs can be made small regardless of a maximum possible number of bills to be accumulated, the driving force required for reciprocating the push member against this spring force can be made small.

A magnetic recording medium of the type comprising a non-magnetic substrate and a magnetic recording layer formed on at least one side of the substrate. The magnetic recording layer comprises particulate alpha-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 and carbon black as additives dispersed in a resin binder along with a magnetic powder. These additives serve to improve magnetic characteristics and a ilght-shielding property. When vinyl chloride-vinyl alcohol copolymers are used as the binder, further improvements are achieved.

The bill device comprises a main part made of an elongated casing. A bill insertion slit is formed at an end portion of a front panel of the casing and a bill conveying passage of an L-shape is provided in the casing and communicates with the bill insertion slit for conveying a bill in the longitudinal direction. A bill discrimination device is provided in a short straight portion of the bill conveying passage nearer to the bill insertion slit and a reciprocating mechanism is provided on one side of a long straight portion of the bill conveying passage for effecting a bill accumulating operation. A bill accumulating box is provided on the other side of the long straight portion of the bill conveying passage for accumulating bills pressed toward it by the reciprocating mechanism.

A magnetic recording medium is disclosed which comprises a support, a non-magnetic resin layer formed on at least one side of the support and made of a mixture of an antistatic agent and a resin binder, and a magnetic recording layer formed on said non-magnetic resin layer and made of magnetic particles dispersed throughout a binder. The antistatic agent is used in an amount of from 1 to 100 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the binder of the non-magnetic resin layer. The mixture may further comprise a curing agent, or particles of carbon black and/or titanium monoxide.
Abstract:
A bill retention device includes a relatively long guide belt which has one end thereof secured to a first rotary member and the other end to a second rotary member and is wound on the first rotary member when no bill isretained at all. For accommodating bills, the second rotary member is rotated to wind the guide belt and also wind the bills tightly thereon. In accordance with winding of the second rotary member, the guide belt is unwound from the first rotary member. Thus, the guide belt is finally wound on the second rotary member many times resulting in winding up of a large number of bills. By having the guide belt wound on the first rotary member simultaneously with the reverse rotation of the second rotary member, the retained bills are unwound from the second rotary member one by one whereby the bills can be automatically returned.

Abstract:
A sink device having a display panel capable of performing a video frame self-refresh as directed by a source device is described. A source determines that a video frame will persist (i.e., remain the same). In this situation, the frame data does not need to be repeatedly transmitted over a main link between the source and sink devices. The main link can be turned off and transmission can cease for a certain time thereby reducing power usage by the devices or system as a whole. The source ensures that the last frame transmitted to the sink is correct by performing CRC checks and then instructs the sink, via certain bit settings in a video status indication symbol, to store the last transmitted frame in the sink's local buffer and use that frame to refresh the panel. The source can then disable the self-refresh when the frame changes.
