    Abstract: A rotation actuator is equipped with a motor and a reduction gear disposed adjacent to each other. Both shaft end portions of a rotating shaft, which passes through the center of the motor and reducer, are rotatably supported through first and second rolling bearings by first and second fixed discs that are mutually fastened and fixed. A rotation output plate is supported through a third rolling bearing in the outer peripheral surface of the second fixed disc. A sliding ring is mounted between the rotation output plate and the first fixed disc. The sliding ring functions as a thrust bearing for the rotation output plate and also functions as a sealing mechanism for preventing grease from flowing from the reducer gear to the outside. A flat rotation actuator can be achieved.

    Abstract: A wave generator of a strain wave gearing has a rigid plug provided with an elliptical outer peripheral surface, and a roller bearing. The outer peripheral surface of the plug is provided with a major-axis-side outer-peripheral surface portion formed at a major axis position L1, and a minor-axis-side outer-peripheral surface portion formed at a minor axis position L2. The major-axis-side outer-peripheral surface portion is a tapered surface that is tapered along a center axis line, and the minor-axis-side outer-peripheral surface portion is an inverted tapered surface that is tapered in the opposite direction. An externally toothed gear can be supported and flexed into an elliptical shape without partial contact by using the wave generator in which the roller bearing is used.

    Abstract: An externally toothed gear of a dual-type strain wave gearing is provided with first and second external teeth having different teeth numbers. The first and second external teeth are flexed by a wave generator by the same flexing amount, into an ellipsoidal shape. The tooth depth of tooth profiles of the first external teeth having a low teeth number is smaller than the tooth depth of tooth profiles of the second external teeth having a high teeth number. A dual-type strain wave gearing can be achieved with which the first and second external teeth having different teeth numbers can be suitably flexed to form excellent meshing states with respective internally toothed gears.

    Abstract: The wave generator of the strain wave gear device comprises: a rigid plug; a roller bearing fitted on the elliptical outer circumferential surface thereof; and first and second cylindrical springs, which press loose rollers that have some play in the radial direction between the outer race and the inner race of the roller bearing against the outer raceway surface. The loose rollers are pressed against the outer raceway surface with a linear contact and roll according to the outer raceway surface. Skewing of the rollers is limited, ensuring smooth rotation of the roller bearing.

    Abstract: A hollow-type strain wave gearing unit has a cup-shaped flexible externally-toothed gear, in which one shaft end portion of a hollow rotation shaft of a wave generator is located. The shaft end portion is supported by a bearing mounted on a bearing holder fixed to a boss of the flexible externally-toothed gear. The bearing holder has a retainer holding portion to prevent a retainer of a wave generator bearing from coming off in the axis line direction. There is no need to dispose a retainer holding plate of the wave generator bearing inside the flexible externally-toothed gear, whereby the axial length of the hollow-type strain wave gearing unit can be reduced.

    Abstract: A strain wave gearing unit is provided with an internal gear, which surrounds the periphery of a cup-shaped external gear, and a bearing. An annular gap is formed between the inner ring of the bearing and the internal gear. The gap communicates with the sliding portions of the bearing and the section where the two gears mesh. An annular filter member made of non-woven fabric is fitted in the gap. Foreign matter such as abrasion powder, which is contained in lubricant that flows in the gap, is trapped by the filter member. The present invention can prevent penetration of abrasion powder generated in the sliding portions into the meshing section via the gap.

    Abstract: A reduction drive-side mounting end face on a strain wave gearing reduction drive unit has a circular center hole, and a motor-side mounting end face on a motor has a circular projection. The strain wave gearing reduction drive unit and motor are coaxially mounted by the circular projection being fit into the circular center hole with a regulating ring therebetween. The regulating ring, which regulates the motion of a flexible external gear, can be easily mounted to the strain wave gearing reduction drive unit by using the motor.
