    Abstract: An optical device including a concavo-convex structure layer composed of a plurality of protrusions arranged having a subwavelength period; a high refractive index layer located on the concavo-convex structure and having a surface shape following the concavo-convex structure; and a low refractive index layer located on the high refractive index layer and having a surface shape following a concavo-convex structure on a surface of the high refractive index layer. The high refractive index layer includes a first grating high refractive index region located on a bottom of the concavo-convex structure to form a subwavelength grating, and a second grating high refractive index region located on a top of the concavo-convex structure to form a subwavelength grating. The high refractive index layer has a refractive index higher than both the refractive indices of the concavo-convex structure layer and the low refractive index layer.

    Abstract: There are provided a reflective photomask blank and a reflective photomask, which are compatibly capable of suppressing a shadowing effect and improving the life of a mask. A reflective photomask blank (10) includes a substrate (1), a reflection part (7) provided on the substrate (1) and configured to reflect incident light, and a low reflection part (8) provided on the reflection part (7) and configured to absorb incident light. The low reflection part (8) has a multi layer structure of at least two layers or more layers. An outermost layer (5) of the low reflection part (8) has a refractive index n equal to or more than 0.90 and an extinction coefficient k equal to or less than 0.02 with respect to extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light (where a wavelength is 13.5 nm).

    Abstract: There is provided a display device configured to display a design, such as wood grain, harmonious with the surroundings when not in operation, in which a decrease in the brightness or the image quality of an image is suppressed. To this end, a display device (101) includes: a base material (1), a printed layer (2) formed on the front surface of the base material (1); a plurality of light emitting units (3) fixed to the front surface of the printed layer (2) and each containing an inorganic LED element, and a control unit (101b) configured to drive the plurality of light emitting units (3), in which a picture pattern harmonious with the surroundings where the display device (101) is installed is used as a picture pattern of the printed layer (2), and an observer is allowed to visually recognize the printed layer (2) when not in operation and allowed to visually recognize a luminous display image by light emission by the emitting units (3) when in operation. The all amounts of emitted light of the plurality of light emitting units (3) reaches the observer with almost no reduction, and therefore the decrease in the brightness of the image can be suppressed, and consequently the decrease in the image quality can be suppressed.
