Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for transmission or reception using beamforming in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a user equipment receives a second signal indicating a first information. The UE derives at least one specific UE beam based on the first information. The UE uses the at least one specific UE beam to receive or transmit at least one transmission, in which the at least one transmission is periodic channel state indication, scheduling request, and/or scheduling information for downlink assignment or uplink resource.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for random access in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a user equipment (UE) performs a first attempt of a random access procedure to communicate with a cell via at least a first UE beam. The UE performs a second attempt of the random access procedure to communicate with the cell via at least a second UE beam when the first attempt fails, in which the direction of the first UE beam and the direction of the second UE beam are different.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for utilizing UE beamforming in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the method includes the UE performing measurement to obtain a measurement result associated with a cell. The method also includes the UE determining whether to use the UE beamforming in the cell at least based on the measurement result, wherein the UE uses the UE beamforming in the cell if the measurement result is worse than a first threshold.
Abstract:
A method for a wireless communications system is disclosed. In one example, a user equipment (UE) (e.g. a mobile phone), receives an indication from a network about one or more UE beams that the UE can use for transmission or reception. The UE uses the one or more UE beams for transmission or reception. If and when a certain condition is fulfilled, for example, there is a beam tracking failure, the UE transmits or receives a specific signal via a specific UE beam. The specific UE beam is different from the one or more UE beams that were indicated by the network, and is selected by the UE.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for improving uplink transmissions in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a user equipment receives an indication indicating a type of data that can be transmitted using a cooperation mode. A first data is transmitted using the cooperation mode, in which the first data belongs to the type of data using the cooperation mode based on the indication. A second data is transmitted without using the cooperation mode, in which the second data does not belong to the type of data using the cooperation mode based on the indication. The cooperation mode is enabled when transmitting the first and second data.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for improving a transmission using a configured resource in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the method includes an uplink grant is available for the UE in a TTI, wherein the UE does not have data available for transmission. The method further includes the UE transmitting a physical control information on a data channel according to the uplink grant if the physical control information needs to be transmitted in the TTI. The method also includes the UE skipping the uplink grant if the physical control information does not need to be transmitted in the TTI.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for using a configured resource by a user equipment in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a signaling to configure an uplink resource which is available in multiple transmission time intervals (TTIs), including a first TTI and a second TTI. The method includes performing a transmission using the uplink resource in the first TTI in response to reception of the signaling and not in the second TTI which is not corresponding to reception of the signaling, wherein the UE has no data available for transmission.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for handling transmission in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the method includes initiating a RA procedure, by a UE, in a serving cell. The method also includes deciding whether to transmit a RA Preamble, by the UE, in the serving cell at a specific timing during the RA procedure based on at least one information that includes beam(s) (or beam group(s)) of the serving cell detected by the UE.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for improving resource control and device to device (D2D) transmission in a wireless communication system. In one method, a device receives a configuration including at least a first contention-based resource pool and a second contention-based resource pool, wherein the first contention-based resource pool includes resources for multiplexing D2D transmission(s) and Downlink (DL) transmission(s) in power domain, and the second contention-based resource pool does not include the resources for multiplexing D2D transmission(s) and DL transmission(s) in power domain. The device also receives at least one threshold value related to a power. The device then selects the first contention-based resource pool or the second contention-based resource pool for D2D transmission based on at least the threshold value.
