Abstract:
An apparatus and process for removing fine particles from sand and other particulate material. The apparatus is generally an air classifier (10) that combines gravitational and aerodynamic forces to classify sand at 10 mesh and finer. According to this invention, the classifier (10) is configured to have a vertical passage (16) centrally located at the vertical axis of an annular-shaped passage (12). The vertical passage (16) is defined by a plurality of inclined vanes (20) that are vertically separated by gaps (28). The sand or other particulate matter is introduced through an inlet (18) at or near the top of the annular-shaped passage (12), and then flows downwardly through the annular-shaped passage (12) around the vertical passage (16). Air is flowed substantially horizontally into the annular-shaped passage (12) and radially inward toward the vertical passage (16) and the vanes (20) thereof so that, as the particulate matter flows downwardly through the annular-shaped passage (12), the air separates a relatively finer constituent of the particulate matter from a relatively coarser constituent of the particulate matter.

The instant invention is a rocker arm bridge support system for high performance engines. The bridge support system eliminates the compound geometry angular placement of valves with a rigid support structure using a common or segmented shaft for securing angular disposed rocker arms to accommodate the offset geometry. A bridge top secures the rocker arm shaft in a free floating manner by bolting of the bridge base directly to the cylinder head as well as the bridge top which is also bolted to the cylinder head by use of through apertures located in the bridge base. The invention includes the teaching of offset rocker arms mountable to the rocker arm shaft to accommodate the angular valve placement.
Abstract:
A fuel meter and theft prevention apparatus is provided which not only prevents siphoning of fuel from a fuel tank, but also senses and records the amount of fuel added to the tank. A company or business can use the recorded fuel added amount to insure that they are charged only for fuel which is placed in the tank. In accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the fuel meter and theft prevention device includes a tamper proof cap adapted for connection to a conventional diesel fuel tank, a digital turbine flow meter including non-resettable recording means for recording total liquid flow through the meter, an apparatus for preventing high velocity gas flow through the meter while allowing generally unimpeded liquid flow therethrough, and a nozzle adapted to receive fuel. The tamper proof cap includes a vent for releasing air from the fuel tank and a check valve for only allowing fuel to flow into the fuel tank.
Abstract:
An assembly of containers is provided for efficient and controlled storage of a reagent and subsequent mixing of the reagent with a reagent diluent. The assembly includes a reagent diluent container and a sealed reagent vial. An adapter assembly includes a coupler having one end mountable to the reagent diluent container and having the opposed end defining a hollow plunger. A retainer ring has one end mountable to the coupler and the opposed end mountable to the reagent vial. The reagent vial is engageable with the coupler in a first position and is advanceable into a second position relative to the adapter assembly such that the hollow plunger thereof displaces the seal of the reagent vial permitting the reagent in the reagent vial to flow through the hollow plunger to mix with a buffer or diluent in the reagent diluent container.
Abstract:
A motor truck hood opening damper restraint in the form of a vertically mounted, hydraulic hood damper or dash pot which restricts the speed of travel of the hood past an overcenter position, cushions the hood at the stop at the open position and permits unrestricted speed of travel when closing the hood.
Abstract:
A thermochemical labyrinth reactor is disclosed. The reactor has a reoxidation zone and a reduction zone with electric heaters. A recuperation zone connects the reduction and reoxidation zones with first and second channels, the first channel adjoining the second channel, being separated by windows allowing an exchange of thermal radiation between channels while preventing gas exchange. The reactor also includes reactor plates composed of a reactive material, and a transit system running through the three zones, with the transit system configured to shuttle the plates between the reduction zone and the reoxidation zone, moving the plates along a circuit. The reactor also has a feedstock gas emitter to introduce a feedstock gas flowing opposite the movement of the plates. A gas extractor is configured to extract a product gas resulting from the feedstock gas being split by the oxidizing reactive material. All three zones are surrounded by an insulating housing.
Abstract:
A tricone drill bit having a hollow housing and leg sections holding rotatable cones for drilling rock. The drill bit encloses a cavitation reactor. The cavitation reactor includes liquid and being capable of receiving a laser beam. The cavitation reactor forms cavitation bubbles fin the liquid in response to the laser beam. The cavitation reactor includes a mask having sub millimeter sized apertures for directing cavitation jets formed on the collapse of the cavitation approximately 0.1-10 microns. These reentrant cavitation jets pass easily through the apertures of the mask and to the rock to enable the tricone drill be to operate more efficiently.
Abstract:
A tire pressure maintenance apparatus and system is disclosed. The apparatus and system comprises a high pressure reservoir and a pressure regulator secured to the high pressure reservoir. A high pressure relief valve is also provided. The high pressure reservoir is circumferentially continuous. Further, the pressure regulator has a passive valve in fluid communication with the high pressure reservoir and the pressure regulator opens at a low pressure point and closes at a high pressure point.

A method and apparatus are provided for accessing a server of a computer system. The method includes the steps of providing a startup CONFIG file or database table for use during initialization of the server and a predetermined user identifier within the startup CONFIG file or database table. The method further includes the steps of a user requesting access to the server, the user providing the predetermined user identifier and the server logging the user into the server under the predetermined user identifier without requiring a password.
