Abstract:
An apparatus and method for simultaneously pressing together longitudinally a plurality of individual strips of wood, each strip being provided with a finger joint at each end. The strips are jointed end to end in a number of rows to form a floorboard. The apparatus includes a mechanism for simultaneously applying longitudinal pressure to each of the rows of wood strips during the curing process. The resulting floorboard is mechanically improved, has greater protection against humidity and increases the fatigue resistance of the floorboard, which can be used for trailer floors or the like.
Abstract:
A cornerboard assembly comprises an interlocking, opposite direction joint between cornerboard millwork components. Dual male members extend from the end of one of the respective components, forming an opening between the members. The male members and opening formed between the members have planar outer surfaces. The second component comprises an end with a single male member which is configured to be inserted into the opening of the first component. The male member of the second component and the other surfaces at this end also have planar outer surfaces. The planar outer surfaces of the two cornerboards components are configured to be positioned adjacent to each other, in surface to surface contact. An exterior construction glue or similar adhesive is placed on the planar surfaces to fixedly and permanently secure the components.

An arrangement which comprises: first and second panel-shaped pieces of flooring for joining together, said pieces resting on a sub-floor and having profiles along mutually meeting edge portions which, on the first piece, consist of a groove and a projection located thereunder, and on the second piece a tongue insertible in the groove, and also a recess accommodating the projection; wherein said projection, at its outer, free edge, is of greater thickness transversely of the plane of extent of the flooring piece than at its inner edge connected with remaining parts of the piece; and wherein the underside of the projection lies flush with the remainder of the underside of the flooring piece.

A laminate flooring sub-layer material is fabricated from mineral or inorganic fibers, preferably virgin rotary fibers, and plastic-containing bonding fibers. The laminate flooring sub-layer material has a substantially uniform density throughout its volume and may be bonded to a vapor barrier layer to form a laminated sub-layer mat that is optimal for use as a laminate flooring sub-layer over a concrete subflooring.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a new plastic flooring that is assembled by concave portions and convex portions. The plastic flooring provides space between the concave portions and convex portions. The space absorbs the heat expansion of the plastic flooring such that the deformation of the plastic flooring is prevented. Also, the space stores an adhesive on a bottom floor such that crevices between the plastic flooring are prevented.

A building panel, such as a flooring panel or wall panel and a method of assembling the same into a floor, wall cladding, etc. The panel is provided with a locking means in the form of groove (6) and tongue (7) forming a tongue/groove joint for assembling of the panels. In a preferred embodiment, the groove (6) and the tongue (7) are made of water resistant material and formed with a snap-together joint.

Underlayment for a floating flooring includes a sandwiched membrane that may be used as a separator between the floating flooring and the rigid foundation thereof. The membrane includes a closed cell low-polyethylene foam whereto two polyethylene films are simultaneously heat-sealed. The films enwrap the foam in its entire width. An overlapping is formed that may overlap and pressure-fix over a self-adhesive strip of the first film of a similar sandwiched membrane adjacently extended and establishing a heading joint between the edges of the foam of both membranes and of the second film, belonging to this overlapping. The overlapping overlaps this heading joint and thus it makes a mechanical tight association between the first thicker film of both membranes, at the same time making a continuous vapor barrier between both membranes, an acoustic buffer and a damping element, which extends along the whole arrangement of sandwiched membranes over the floor.

A floor tile, in particular a laminate panel, parquet element, veneer floor element, ready-to-lay parquet element or such like comprises an edge profile on at least two opposite edges in the form of a modified groove and tongue joint for the purpose of connecting adjacent tiles, with a coincident arrangement consisting of one groove and one tongue on each of at least two edges, of which the tongue on one edge of a first tile and the groove in an associated edge of a second tile rise obliquely upwards from the bottom of the tile. The edge profiles are contrived directly in the support material of the floor tile, the groove in the first tile is disposed directly above its tongue and the lower wall of this groove falls off towards the back end of the groove by the same degree as the tongue on the first tile rises upwards. The upper wall of the groove in the first tile runs essentially parallel to the plane of the tile, and the tongue on the second tile matches the shape of the groove in the first tile by having a top surface that runs essentially parallel to the plane of the tile and a bottom surface that falls off towards the end of the tongue.
