    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a smart automated latch mechanism for opening a front trunk of a vehicle and a smart sensor array for detecting when the front trunk of the vehicle is at capacity. The system operates by having an electronic latch mechanism for the front trunk coupled with an infra-red sensor at the interface between the lid and the vehicle bonnet. When a change in temperature is detected in this space by the sensor, an electric motor causes the front trunk to open, removing the need for the user to actually touch the vehicle to open the front trunk. This system combines with a directional sensor array arranged inside the trunk which detects when an object is placed in front of it. The sensor array is arranged at a capacity height of the trunk, and thus allows for automated detection of when an object is in an inappropriate position, preventing damage to the vehicle from closing the front trunk lid on the object.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, an oven includes an oven chamber operable to be heated and having a front opening. The oven further includes a frame coupled to and at least partially surrounding the oven chamber. The oven further includes a door operable to seal the front opening of the oven chamber, and a pair of hinges pivotally coupling the door to the frame. Each hinge is positioned on opposing sides of the oven chamber. The oven further includes a pair counterweights that are each coupled to the rear portion of a respective hinge, and a pair of dampers. Each damper is coupled to the frame and operable to resist movement of the door in a single direction opposite that of the other damper.

    Abstract: A hinge assembly includes a guiding unit connected between and slidable relative to first and second hinge units along arcuate lines. The second hinge unit has a pivot shaft extending through first and second rings, and a resilient washer. The second ring is rotatable on the pivot shaft relative to the first ring and has a radial extension member telescopically connected to a pivotal arm of the first hinge unit. The resilient washer pushes the second ring against the first ring. A protrusion of the first ring slides along a contact surface of the second ring having a groove so that a variable friction toque is created against relative movement of the first and second hinge units.

    Abstract: The inner surface of one side section of a frame has the base-end section of a rotation arm of a rotation-biasing element that is rotatable. A roller is provided on the tip-end section of the rotation arm. The roller is pressed against and contacts the rear surface of a door as a result of the biasing by the rotation-biasing element. The rear surface of the door is equipped with a damper element. The damper element has a contact member for pressing against and contacting the roller when the door is in the closed position or in a prescribed intermediate position. The contact member minimizes the speed at which the roller moves forward.

    Abstract: The inner surface of one side section of a frame (1) has the base-end section of a rotation arm (44) of a rotation-biasing means (4) provided so as to be rotatable. A roller (47) is provided on the tip-end section of the rotation arm (44). The roller (47) is pressed against and contacts the rear surface (2a) of a door (2) as a result of the biasing by the rotation-biasing, means (nut illustrated). The rear surface of the door (2) is equipped with a damper means (5). The damper means (5) has a contact member (52) for pressing against and contacting the roller (47) when the door is in the closed position or in a prescribed intermediate position.
